After storing the corpse of the bear inside his space pocket, Alex returned to the City. The trip back took him only a few minutes with his current speed and there was still a lot of time before nightfall.
Reaching the border, Alex noticed that the officers were gathered around someone, but they didn't notice him immediately.
Only after he walked close did they notice his presence.
"It's explorer Chen!"
"Explorer Chen is back, welcome back, Mr Chen!"
"Mr Chen, how was your trip outside?"
The officers immediately started to greet him respectfully upon noticing him. This made Alex lift an eyebrow in confusion; the attitude of these officers was strange.
Although they were usually respectful towards him because of his identity as an explorer and a guest of the Union, they were never this eager to greet him.
He noticed someone at this moment as a man pushed past the line of officers and approached Alex, the others tried to stop him.
