"Look," I finally said, "I don't want to talk about Leanna. I don't want to talk about Leonard. I don't even want to talk about Cesar. But we have to agree on one thing, the fact that you and Cesar have a history shouldn't matter anymore. Like you said, it was about little Jenny. That was decades ago."
I paused, trying to keep the tension from building again. "Even if the beef is still going on... why are you still mad at him? Don't tell me you're still interested in little Jenny?" I added, trying to make it light.
Sebastian laughed. But when his eyes met mine again, I knew. There was something more, something bigger that he hadn't told me yet.
"Okay," he said finally. "All cards on the table."
