CASEY
Not soon enough, we were already at Cesar's penthouse.
He didn't say anything to me. The driver came around and opened both our doors. I got out.
Cesar just walked ahead, straight in, didn't even turn back to make sure I was following him. But then again...
I found myself following him. For whatever reason. I had no clue what was waiting for me inside. I stepped inside after him, and the door slammed behind me with a sound that made me flinch.
Cesar was already pacing. Not talking. Not yelling. Just pacing. That seemed worse because I couldn't tell what version of him I was going to get. I didn't know if he was about to explode or go completely cold.
He suddenly stopped in the middle of the living room, turned, and looked at me. His eyes locked on mine, and I swear, I couldn't breathe.
"You humiliated me."
His voice was calm. Too calm. I tried to speak, but he cut me off.
