CASEY
I don't know how long I stood there, staring blankly at the hallway tiles, my thoughts everywhere and not anywhere, until I heard his voice again.
"What the fuck are you doing there?" he asked.
His tone cut through the air, sharp and angry. From the sound of it, I immediately shivered. I turned toward him, heart skipping in my chest.
"I… I didn't have the password to the door," I said softly. "I didn't know how to leave. I'm sorry. I know you don't want me here...."
"Just shut up, Casey." He shouted, and I clamped my mouth shut.
I had no idea what I had done wrong. Well… maybe I kind of did. But at this moment, in his presence, with that much rage radiating off him, I didn't know how to feel..
He walked closer while I just stood there. He took a breath, his eyes drilling into mine, and he didn't bother hiding what he felt.
