CASEY
It sounded so final.
"Ever since I've been with you... I have 'never' disrespected you. You kept calling me a womaniser, a playboy but have you ever seen me with another woman? Ever seen me on the papers with anyone else? Have I ever tried to make you jealous?"
He stepped forward now, voice shaking.
"I could have. But I didn't. Because I cared. I cared about you. I cared about your feelings."
His eyes flared.
"But you...you're just something else."
Something stuck in my throat. It hurt. Like something was climbing up from my chest.
I could feel him pulling away from me, slipping right through my fingers and I wasn't ready. I wasn't ready to lose him. I didn't want to lose him. Not yet. Not now.
I moved forward.
"Caesar..." I said, softly, desperately but he avoided my touch.
"You said you're not my girl," he bit out. "You're not my girlfriend. Fine. Then you're not mine."
His voice cut....cold.
