Chapter 6
"Operation XXV"
In late June 2031, the operation began, and my company was tasked to infiltrate and make the GOC soldiers inside the bastion lose focus so the T.O.P. could launch a massive attack at the bastion. It's 3 AM, and the GOC soldier has fallen asleep. What a perfect opportunity to capture the bastion and support the other small factions to rebel against the GOC and regain their rights.
Our plane is now ready to fly, and one by one, our company's soldier enters the plane and sits in their position. If we fail this mission, there's no future, and the T.O.P will get eradicated to the last one. The plane clanks as our footsteps enter the plane, our soldiers are determined to kill every GOC soldier and make them pay for the crimes they did to us. Kiriyama enters the plane and lastly, I enter the plane. After making sure that's everyone on the plane, the gate opens slowly, because it's never opened before after the invasion in 2027 by the GOC Marine Raider team. This bunker that has Underground Airbase is an excellent spot to hide our plane, as the gate slowly opened, our soldier chanted their prayers, some prayed in their religion, some hoped that they would see another day, and some hoped they could meet with their wives and girlfriends that have been missing for a long time. The gate fully opened and the plane engine started moving the plane, the pilot of this plane concentrated on flying the plane.
Slowly we approach the gate as we prepare, the plane engine goes faster, and the plane comes out from the underground bunker pathway. The plane starts flying up slowly and reaches the sky. Looking outside the plane, the night covers our tracks, and the thick cloud blocks the view, Our plane experiences turbulence because there's a storm ahead, but the pilot is determined to take us to our mission and increase the plane's speed. Our plane enters the storm and we wait for more information from the pilot. Hours just pass and we almost arrive at the bastion. The pilot announces on the speaker to wear the parachute and prepare to jump. One by one, our soldier stands up and wears their parachute, they continue their prayer, as the plane gets closer to the bastion, Kiriyama whispers to herself and calms herself, "You can do this, Kiriyama, you already risk your life every day, so it's be okay."
From the look itself, I can tell that Kiriyama hesitates but she forces herself to stay calm because she is the one in charge of our company after Captain Allen mysteriously disappeared. If she shows any sign of fear, it will affect our soldiers. She doesn't want this and wants everyone to stay alive until we successfully drag the GOC to their Grave and Hell itself, while me? I don't really show emotions after the tragedy in site 19. It keeps playing in the loop every night and every sleep I ever had, it keeps playing to remind me of those scared faces and those who blame me in echoes of why I survived. Suddenly the pilot announces that we are now very close to enemy bastion. After the announcements, The light that signals us to jump and parachute at the GOC bastion starts turning red, shining the plane interior into red light, my soldiers grip their parachute and prepare to jump outside. After a while, the light turns green signaling to us that we are free to jump outside and parachute, one by one our soldiers jump outside and parachute at the enemy bastion, until Kiriyama's turn, she looks at me before jumping outside following our soldiers. Now I'm the last one, I immediately jump and join them. The plane slowly fades to the thick cloud.
Our forces are slowly approaching the bastion and one by one land and take their positions until me and Kiriyama landed. We started our move and immediately shut down their Control Room and the Reinforcements Alarm. After securing the Control Room and shutting down the alarm, the GOC soldier who was patrolling immediately activated the Facility Alarm. What is unexpected is the fact that 500 GOC soldiers are guarding this area, outnumbering us by hundreds. Taking a defensive position, we fight desperately for control of the Control Room. If they secured the Control Room and called reinforcements, they would beat all of us and kill us or worse, torture us to death. We keep fighting as the GOC wants to take over their Control Room again. The time shows 04:45 AM, and we're now low on ammunition. Some of my soldiers started using bayonets and stabbing the GOC soldier who approached our position and stabbed them brutally before taking their weapons and suppressing fire on the GOC soldier. Time ticks away as countless bullets ricocheted off the wall and killed some of our soldiers. We took our last stand not letting the GOC stations here take control of the Control Room. Our medic takes the wounded ones, patches them before injecting adrenaline, and lets them continue to fight. The battle continues until 05:00 AM, when a flare is lit outside the bastion, shining the bastion as the morning comes. Thousands of militia stormed into the bastion and advanced very quickly. What I wasn't expecting was that the T.O.P. surrounded the Bastion and attacked from all sides, making the GOC Company outside the Bastion that guarded the trenches and bunker get overwhelmed by the manpower that attacked the Bastion. The T.O.P has sent over 200k militia to attack the Bastion making our job inside the bastion easier because the GOC soldier inside the bastion was forced to help defend on the outside front leaving small units to fight us.
Seizing the opportunity, Kiriyama immediately led and killed all GOC soldiers inside the bastion, particularly the squad leader, who was scared without his soldier. Pathetically, a leader should die with his soldiers with respect or lead his team to victory. Kiriyama gives me a sign and lets me take care of him while she secures the inside and helps the militia secure the bastion. After they left me alone with the GOC squad leader, I pulled out a bayonet knife and approached him. Looking at me he's scared and tries to run away but there's no way out of there. I approach him and raising the Bayonet I stab his chest and he screams like a little child that got a bruise. Making a smile as I stab him brutally, he begs me to let him go but I ignore that and keep stabbing him until the last blood leaves his body, as the last breath left the body I spit at the lifeless body and said in my own mind "Rot in hell you piece of shit." before leaving his lifeless body and join the rest of my unit. The blood covers my uniform but I don't mind with it. My unit looked at my uniform covered in blood but decided not to comment about it.
Kiriyama itself decide to not speak about my uniform and continue on the objective. We cleaned up and eliminated any GOC soldier armed or unarmed, who was executed by our soldiers and the militia. The officer in charge tried to run away and escape but got caught up by our soldiers, and dragged in front of me. The officer told me everything but I already learned it from the GOC Officer before what the GOC Officer here told me was nothing but a piece of useless information. Begging in front of me crying and scared, I did not hear anything and immediately stabbed the bayonet knife to the officer's head ending his life. As the last breaths of the officer left his body, I stood before the lifeless corpse. I let my soldier take the body and burn it outside the bastion.
After a few hours of cleaning up, the bastion's GOC flag was torn up and changed into the Chaos Insurgency flag. Our Soldiers and Militia have cheered up and celebrated our victory over the GOC, while? I'm still mentally shaken as I killed the GOC squad leader and officer here with my own hands. And tremors, the screams of the leader and officer keep playing in my head in a loop, before Kiriyama approaches me from behind and calms me down. Before whispering into my ear.
"It's okay, you can cry as much as you want, I know you want to but don't hold anything."
I cry on Kiriyama's hand and let go of my stress, I try hard to be an adult but I can't, Kiriyama in my other hand just pats my head as I cry in her arm.
A few hours later, we investigated the bastion and found some skeleton remains and corpses, some of them were kids who were boiled in sulfuric acid and some were beaten to death until their noses were broken or their eyes popped out, the GOC really did a war crimes here. The victims here were locals who were accused of being separatists and insurgents, which they're not because they are only civilians who got kidnapped by GOC to satisfy the guard here by beating them to death. Thus, make this a lesson for me and my company to continue this war and tell the world the things that were hidden by the GOC itself.
Night approaches and we're on our stations. There's no GOC attempt to attack or capture the bastion again, after confirming the situation we return to our new barracks and sleep. The price for this victory was very costly but is it worth it? I don't see any difference if that's worth it or not but I only want 1 thing's brings down the GOC and throws them to hell.
The night was cold but now I'm more relax after being calmed down by Kiriyama. I can rest peacefully, good night for myself and I hope for more in the next day.
