"Wow, I am deeply touched. I wonder… how long did it take you to build up that much courage to layer those words? A lifetime probably wasn't sufficient for you?"
"Look scum. I don't…," he retorted as he raised his fist but quickly withdrew from his statement and dipped into silence.
"I knew it. You haven't changed one bit. You are just the same old thug you were back then and will always be," he stormed off in unholy assertion leaving Millo in a pool of shame and mild rage.
'What a load of crap. How dare he comes up so friendly to me like that, wrapping his arms over me like that and even saying I ghosted him?'
'Come to think of it, I haven't really seen him over the past week I've been in this academy and our numbers are quite small to not have even had a recall of maybe sighting him.'
He decided to look into Millo over the next few days. If he hadn't seen him at first it could be that he wasn't a student here but that wasn't possible unless he wasn't an awakened.
So he was left with two suspicions. One, Millo wasn't an awakened or some other inference that eluded him.
The thought of Millo not being an awakened tugged a smile through his mouth line.
But he was almost sure that he he felt a cold sensation of something that should have been his comm when he put his hand over him.
That proved that he indeed was awakened and was as well a member of the academy.
His mischievous smile dissolved into a sordid mouth line.
He sombrely went through the day with heavy burden of Millo's presence of in his new life.
He had just finished his daily grind in the VR, and stepped out as of the chamber with beads of adhering sweat clinging onto his body and clothes.
Max ran down from the control panel above and was about to shut down the entire room from the main circuit below.
He noticed Xavier breathing more heavily then usual and couldn't help but ask what the mattter was.
"Nothing, probably just the increased difficulty today."
But it wasn't. The entire exhaustion emanated from a single point.
"Arrgh!", he groaned.
The Scar.
It surfed up his body even more. All the while it had been there and he hadn't sought any help whatsoever about it.
He quickly rolled up his sweaty sleeve.
"Arghh!!", he screamed some more.
"Bro, what did you do? That scar! It's massive!"
"..."
The pain was too much even as to let him respond.
"Okay, just wait there. We are going to the medics," he said as he held his arm over him, assisting him movement.
When that finally got there, Xavier felt like they have been walking for hours.
Max crashed through the door and tossed Xavier on the nearest bed he could find and sped off to seek help.
[Omega Scar - Darkness Plight]
[Sterilizing outcome]
[Effect combat failed]
[Effect slightly mellowed]
[Exp loss every hour]
'What!', he couldn't react in any way. The pain he already felt somewhat felt like a cushion for another imminent plight approaching.
Exp loss every hour. This was bad.
This was the same climate amid the Omega realm though the effect dwindled a bit, it still spelt doom for him.
So that meant that who ever inflicted this scar on him most likely came from there and was working for Ravana.
Some moments later, Max came rushing in with Aisha which was the only expert present at the hour.
She brought with her two other wards who took his bed and strolled him over to the ER.
They didn't waste time. They quickly pulled out a bandage and some liquor.
He soaked up the bandage in the liquor and wrapped it over his scar.
He also gave him some dissolved mana to inhale since as she could tell from the mana meter stringed to him arm that he needed some and that he was probably too weak for direct absorbsion so the dissolved mana was only deemed necessary.
Xavier noticed the comm round he arm and the intricate details on it.
He infered that she was a freshman like him and slightly abhorred the fact that she was the one taking him.
Luckily, this was only a minor case. He didn't waste much time in the room after that.
When his vitals had stabilized Aisha decide to lease him some news about his conditions.
"Mr. Von, your case is quite a difficult one to cure."
"Xavier! And what do you mean."
"This scar looks somewhat like an infliction from a magical blade, from the ore purple sapphire to be precise."
Xavier looked intensely at the lips of the doctor to determine why his case was so severe.
"This was obviously induced with a dose of magic and most of our medications don't seem to work. Only a few are taking suppressed effects and might only last a little while."
"In the meantime, you'll be given some orbs to diffuse in to restore your depleted mana but I can't say for sure if you condition would improve or not", she blurted in a sombre note.
Max had left earlier to close up the VR but quickly returned to take Xavier back home while Xavier ingested the unpalatable words of the doctor.
This was ofcourse expected. If this person was an S-rank and worked for a god, it was only expected that only another S-rank or some some kind of God could cure him.
Luckily, the hospital bill was free so he didn't need to worry about credits afterwards.
His thoughts wondered to why such a drastic upthrust arise today of all days.
He expected somewhat of a gradual rise but no, it all decided to push up once.
Millo, he thought.
This never affected me this way till after I met him. Looks like his habitual attitude to blame Millo also followed him as well to this new reality.
