"Casa, what did you knock out of this Sea King's belly?" Enel recoiled as corrosive, bubbling liquid hit the coral ground. The noxious substance hissed on contact, eating into the stone. "That stuff'll melt through more than just coral—if it touches us, we're done."
"This could be high-concentration stomach acid maybe sulfuric from inside that Sea King-class frog," Casa said grimly, staring at the gaping hole that was melting into Fish-Man Island's surface. "It's strong enough to dissolve steel. Be extra careful, Enel. That slime on its skin wasn't even the final trick. If I'd been closer to its mouth just now... I'd have vanished without a trace."
"Watch it! It's moving again!" Enel shouted. The sea frog had been stunned by Casa's last strike, but the attack seemed to trigger an involuntary regurgitation. It stirred now, fully awakened.
"Soru!" Casa knew hesitation meant defeat. He couldn't let the frog recover its rhythm. He moved in again using shave, the Rokushiki technique that grants instantaneous movement by stepping multiple times in a fraction of a second. But this time, the sea frog anticipated him it had regained awareness, and with a whip of its tongue, it launched Casa backwards mid-charge.
"Teleport." Enel's body disintegrated into pure lightning. In a flash, he appeared behind Casa and materialized, catching him before he hit a jagged coral wall.
"Damn it… it's fully conscious again!" Casa groaned, clutching his chest. "I thought I could finish it off while it was dazed but now I've taken more damage than it has."
"Hmph, if this fight were on land, that thing wouldn't have lasted two minutes." Enel helped lower Casa to the ground. Despite drinking Rin's Devil Fruit Weakness Nullification Serum, which allowed him to fight underwater without dying, Enel's lightning was still restricted to avoid harming surrounding marine life.he couldn't unleash his full destructive power like he did on Skypiea or Birka.
"Move!" Casa suddenly shoved Enel aside. The spot where they'd just been standing was crushed flat by the sea frog's massive tongue slick with mucus and lined with suction grooves. Without Casa's warning, they would've been pulverized.
"Rankyaku!" A new voice cut through the chaos Rin. He emerged from behind a nearby coral boulder, having taken shelter inside a turtle-shell shield. Without hesitation, he launched a vacuum blade toward the frog's back. But like Casa's earlier attacks, it struck the creature's skin and was absorbed by the thick, jelly-like mucus coating its body.
"Captain! Rin-sama!" Enel called out, relief flashing across his face.
"Seems like things aren't going too smoothly." Rin gave a crooked smile as he assessed the two exhausted fighters.
"You're not wrong. That slime coating the frog's body neutralizes physical attacks. You should be cautious it eats through nearly everything," Casa warned him. "Even your kicks might be useless."
"I noticed that when I attacked it's like hitting mochi mixed with rubber. But I've been watching its reaction." Rin narrowed his eyes.
"Did you handle things on your end?" Casa asked.
"That turtle idiot is faking unconsciousness. No need to worry.let's deal with this one first." Rin dodged as the sea frog's forelimb struck down beside him with enough force to crater the seafloor.
With Rin's arrival, the dynamic changed. He, Casa, and Enel attacked in sync, and while the frog no longer had a clear upper hand, the prolonged combat began draining Casa and Enel's stamina. Their coordination improved, but the mucus defense continued to stall all progress.
"Rankyaku!" Rin unleashed another kick, but again, the vacuum slash was absorbed until Rin noticed something. Just before impact, the surrounding slime briefly rippled and pulled away, almost as if repelled by the attack's air pressure.
"Casa, Enel.I've got an idea! Get over here!" Rin shouted, eyes sharp with realization.
"What's the plan, Captain?" Casa and Enel flashed beside him immediately. They knew better than to waste time asking twice.
"Casa, you and I will focus our Rankyaku on the frog's back pound the same area over and over. Enel, the second we clear the slime, hit that spot with your strongest lightning."
It was a gamble.but a calculated one. If repeated high-pressure attacks could push the slime away, they could expose the frog's actual skin and hit it where it hurt.
"Soru!" Casa and Rin blurred forward in perfect synchronization.
"Rankyaku!" The twin vacuum blades exploded against the frog's back. Again and again, the frog twitched as the concentrated slashes hammered the same spot. This time, the slime recoiled visibly.pushed aside by the shockwaves. A patch of vulnerable flesh gleamed underneath.
"30 Million Volts: Thunderbird!" Enel roared, his hands moving in a blur as he struck the drums embedded in his back. His body became engulfed in blinding light. A massive thunderbird-shaped bolt screaming with the rage of an injured god exploded from him and struck the frog at the exposed point.
The lightning surged through the sea frog's unprotected body. Muscles spasmed, limbs flailed, and its cry of pain echoed through the ocean like a sonar boom. Rin's plan had worked. Remove the insulation, and Enel's electricity could reach its full potential even underwater.
But despite the impact, the frog didn't die. It twitched violently, but it still clung to life.
"It wasn't enough…" Rin muttered under his breath. The mucus had returned faster than expected. "But we're close. One more like that and it's finished."
