Zane's POV~
I made my way to Rhys's office, but unfortunately, he wasn't there. I checked twice. Knocked. Waited. Nothing.
Frustrated, I began searching the entire fashion house. I didn't even know exactly where I was going....my legs just kept moving, taking me through different departments, hoping I'd catch a glimpse of him. Still, there was no sign of Rhys anywhere.
I asked a few of his workers along the way, but none of them gave me any valid answer. In fact, they barely responded at all. Most of them avoided eye contact, some pretended they didn't hear me, while others turned and walked away before I could finish my sentence.
It was like I was invisible...or worse, a threat. All because I mentioned Rhys's name.
This is crazy, I thought with a heavy sigh, finally giving up and heading toward the exit. How could grown adults be so terrified of their boss that they act like this? What the hell kind of power does Rhys hold over them?
