Chapter 40 - Chapter Forty-Parsimonious?

"Sorry," she apologised, "I was overwhelmed just now."

"Yes you were." The waiter placed a tray of two burgers and drinks on the table. Sabrina smiled at him and whispered a 'thank you,' causing the young boy to blush and hurry away.

"Sabrina, I'm not trying to break or wreck your marriage, but don't you think it's bad of you to marry someone's fiancé?." Sabrina took a huge bite of her burger, watching the talented actress facing her talking, with a look that was nearly termed as bored.

Emily sighed as she looked down at her laps, "Lexis and I has been engaged even from infants, and we were pretty close. Till our teenage years. He started crushing on a girl and stopped liking me."

Sabrina arched her brows. Lexis crushed on a girl? He never told her about it. Or was it part of Emily's fabrication?

"What's the name of the girl?."

"Claire."

"What happened to her." Sabrina was eager to see if she was lying at this point.

Emily stared at her, "I don't know. Nobody knows. She disappeared without a trace.

Sabrina drank her coke, "Okay."

She put her coke down and faced Emily, "So, you telling me about you and Lexis' early love life, what do you want me to do?."

"It's simple." Emily smiled, relieved. She thought it would be hard to brainwash Sabrina due to her idgaf attitude earlier.

The thought of Lexis and Sabrina's divorce made her giddy with excitement.

"Just tell Lexis you want to divorce him. Tell him you are tired."

Sabrina squinted her eyes, "And what made you think I'll do that?."

"Because you don't like him. You are only after his money." Emily said so confidently Sabrina nearly chuckled at the audacity of the woman before her. What gave her the confidence to make she'd even divorce Lexis because of her?.

Emily brought out some bundles of dollars and pushed it towards Sabrina, "I promise to give you more than these; triple of this if u divorce him."

Sabrina dropped the burger she was eating and took the money, inspecting them.

Emily was happy when she saw the smile forming on Sabrina's face.

She dropped the burger she was eating, "If not for my benevolence, I would have slapped you for insulting me in the most disrespectful and degrading way." The smile on her face dropped, "You…"

Sabrina leaned forward on the table, "Do you take me for a fool?. What even gave you the impudence to drop some chicken change in change of me to divorce Lexis.

She threw the money at Emily, her face unrelenting.

Emily glared at her, "You should be grateful that I'm telling you to leave my fiancé politely with money."

"Oh, really? You should be grateful instead that I didn't slap u for insulting me in such a way," Sabrina wore a devil-may-care look, "try have some dignity. If you call my husband your fiancé one more time, I don't think I'll take it lightly with you." She stared at the bundle of money she held, "You even consider those in your hand as cash? You're really parsimonious. I expected more."

Sabrina dropped a few dollars on the table, "I have paid for the bill. See you never, Miss Emily." She walked away with a smile. Emily narrowed her eyes before hitting the table hard, not minding the crazy looks directed at her.

Sabrina Wonders. She thought her plan would go well. What happened?

She even called her parsimonious! Right infront of her!

She breathed out. No need to panic. She would plan. She would force Sabrina out of Lexis' life.

.

Sabrina reached her departs with a foul mood, and seeing the pitiful looks her colleagues were directing at her, it even worsened her mood.

She turned blind eyes to their sympathetic expressions .

As she walked to her desk, she was surprised to see lots of files piled up on her table.

"What is this?." She asked Daisy, who blinked her eyes.

"They are from Aurora. She said you should save them into the laptop, meanwhile correcting any error."

The red haired witch. Sabrina nearly cursed her, but she held herself.

She sat on the chair and opened a file, and found out it was not edited at all.

She sighed. Aurora had choose this method to frustrate her.

"She warned everyone here not to lend a hand to you, or the person will be suspended, including me." Daisy whispered.

"She's just a 'bittered' witch." Sabrina cursed, much to Daisy's shock due to her profanity.

"Pretend like I didn't say anything." Sabrina gave a sheepish smile when she heard Aurora's voice.

"Oh, well, you're back from your lover's place?." Aurora stood in front of Sabrina, who didn't even spare a glance at her.

It would be ruthless of her to report Aurora to Lexis and get her fired.

Or she would have done it a long time ago.

"Finish up all these files before you leave today. I want to see all the saved and edited documents on my table tomorrow."

Aurora pointed at the files.

Sabrina's green eyes darkened. How could she possibly finish all these files today? That would mean she would sleep at the company.

There were low voices of protest, but one sharp look from Aurora silenced them.

Seeing the nonchalant expression on Sabrina's face, she couldn't help but feel irritated. She expected her to plead for forgiveness, on her knees begging; but here was she, calmly going through the a file, pretending she wasn't standing in front of her, like she wasn't existing.

It was a trap, Aurora thought. If Sabrina couldn't finish up the task, it would then be a good opportunity for Sabrina to be suspended and report her to George.

"Better do all of them, diligently, and if I catch any one of you helping her, you can as well consider yourself as a non member of this department." She said, her fake purple eyes directed at Daisy, who straightened her back due to nervousness.
