"She is in a coma," Dr Albert announced, and I was suddenly thrown off balance. I had expected something else entirely, something positive, but it's obvious I'm not going to get it. I wiped off the beads of perspiration which had now gathered on my forehead as I suddenly became hot. Too hot to be comfortable underneath the black suit I wore. But that was not all, Dr Albert had other news as it seemed.
"In the light of this, she needs to be operated on as soon as possible so as to be delivered of her pregnancy. It is essential for her safety and that of her unborn child." Dr Albert announced, and I got even more confused and sad. Of what use is the baby without the mother? Who will nurse our baby like Nicole would?
"Is there anything we can do to get her out of coma?" I asked, not minding the desperation that was evident in my voice. I needed her out of the coma as soon as possible, our baby needs her.
