I sent the details of the agreement to Mr Patrick, my lawyer, in the evening of the same day. Just when I hit send, an idea struck me. One I like to think about as bright.
What if I leave everything and start over in a different place that is very far away?
At first, I thought about the idea with very little interest, then I remembered Leonard, and what he would do to tell me when he eventually finds out about what I did. With this thought in mind, I made a decision, and sent another message to my lawyer. It was brief this time, and straight to the point.
"Get me a buyer for my mansion."
His reply came a few minutes later, and when I read it, I frowned. Maybe we need to revisit the relationship between us. It's nothing but a lawyer-client relationship, and he doesn't get to question my decisions however unsettling they might make him feel.
"Are you sure about this?" his message read.
