Bonnie's temple throbbed. "Who said I was explaining myself to you?"
Derek chuckled. "Alright, let's pretend you weren't."
A few seconds later, he drew out his words with a lazy smile. "So my ex still has feelings for me..."
Bonnie's irritation spiked, she wanted to claw his face off.
She tried to leave, but Derek wouldn't let her. He held her by the waist, his alluring eyes narrowing slightly. "Tell me, in those two years away from me... did you ever think about me?"
Her lashes trembled. She looked down and tried to pry his hand off.
But instead, he caught her fingertips gently. He wasn't using much force, just lightly brushing her fingers with his own, the touch ticklish. His voice was warm and soft, not aggressive at all. "Hmm? Bonnie?"
Her voice was stiff, eyes averted. "No."
He raised a brow, his handsome features laced with mischief. "Really?"
Bonnie repeated, "No."
Derek studied her, then chuckled quietly. "I don't believe you."
