The {headless demon}, reacting swiftly under the control of the silk threads, dodged Tanjiro's attack.
After repelling the {headless demon}, Tanjiro turned and severed the silk threads binding Inosuke.
Rescued, Inosuke felt a strange warmth.
"Inosuke, let's fight together! Let's defeat this {headless demon}!" Tanjiro said.
Inosuke, disliking the warmth, yelled, "Don't make me feel warm! Stay out of the way!"
He preferred fighting alone, urging Tanjiro to move.
As they argued, the {headless demon}'s blades swung towards them. They jumped back.
"Inosuke, cut the silk threads on the {headless demon} to temporarily disable it!" Tanjiro instructed.
He wasn't sure if the {headless demon} had its own consciousness; if it did, it wouldn't be controlled. If not, severing the threads would temporarily disable it, allowing for a killing blow.
This was just a guess. If it remained mobile, Tanjiro would need another plan.
He thought of Ryuji. Ryuji would have easily cut those threads.
Inosuke slid under the swinging blades, reaching behind the {headless demon} and attempting to cut the silk threads, a maneuver only his flexibility allowed.
However, instead of cutting, the threads caused a crack in Inosuke's Nichirin Blade.
"Tanjiro! I can't cut these threads!" Inosuke shouted.
Tanjiro was surprised. He had cut similar threads; Inosuke should be able to as well. Were the threads on this {demon} special?
The {headless demon} spun around, swinging its blades at Inosuke.
Inosuke rolled away, narrowly avoiding the blades as they pierced the ground beside his ear.
Tanjiro realized he couldn't dwell on the uncut threads. While the {headless demon}'s attention was on Inosuke, he aimed for a killing blow.
