Chapter 54 - Chapter 53: Jeanne's Unwavering Resolve

The group who had left the sewers were preparing to depart. Looking at the squad of knights behind him, Arthur thought for a moment. Everyone had come but hadn't experienced modern society yet. Arthur felt a touch of pity.

Arthur turned back, looking at the others whose moods had soured due to Gilles' actions. Arthur waved his hand and said to them, "Alright, don't be so down." Arthur happened to see a Chinese restaurant. Seeing that it was quite large, Arthur turned back and said, "Everyone hasn't tried Chinese food yet, right? In that case, today, how about I treat everyone to the best Manchu Han Imperial Feast?"

"Long live King Arthur!!!" Hearing Arthur's words, everyone's hearts instantly filled with joy. This was different from usual; this was a king's reward!

Seeing their spirits lift, Arthur nodded. Then, he instructed everyone to dismount, let the horses return, and the group marched grandly towards the Chinese restaurant.

Upon entering, Arthur directly ordered a large table full of the Manchu Han Imperial Feast. Seeing the waiter's expression, Arthur smiled and said, "A wrap-up banquet for the film crew."

Thus, the waiter left them. As expected of the best restaurant here, it wasn't long before the dishes of the Manchu Han Imperial Feast began to arrive one after another.

These dishes were both savory and sweet, meat and vegetables, with meticulous ingredients, highlighting the special flavors of Manchu cuisine. Barbecue, hot pot, and shabu-shabu were almost indispensable dishes, while also showcasing the characteristics of Han cooking, including braising, frying, stir-frying, simmering, and roasting. It was truly a gem and the highest of Chinese culinary culture.

Looking at everything before them, the entire knightly order couldn't wait. Arthur didn't stand on ceremony, directly picking up a bite of food. Only then did the knights begin to eat happily. Although there were one hundred and eight dishes, a dozen or so knights were not light eaters.

The scene was lively, and every knight was very happy. Jeanne looked at everyone before her, and the gloomy feeling in her heart gradually lessened, influenced by the atmosphere.

Just as everyone was enjoying their meal, Arthur heard a voice. A very familiar voice.

"Saber, knowing you're unhappy, I'll treat you to a meal today. I hear Chinese food here is good."

Hearing this mature voice with a hint of girlish liveliness, Arthur realized. Wasn't this Irisviel!

Sure enough, just a few minutes later, he saw Irisviel walking in, pulling a beautiful girl along. It was Artoria.

"Indeed! Hunger is the greatest enemy!" Artoria also said seriously, but seeing the ahoge on her head pointing firmly towards the restaurant kitchen, Arthur suddenly remembered a saying he had heard before.

If you want to find delicious food, just bring our King, and the ahoge on her head will guide you to your destination like a compass.

"What a coincidence! Artoria!"

Arthur said happily. Meeting Artoria made Arthur's heart very happy.

"Oh? Arthur."

Artoria also saw Arthur and gradually walked over. However, as soon as Artoria reached Arthur, she was completely drawn in by the large table of food. Small stars filled Artoria's eyes.

"This is… such exquisite food."

Seeing Artoria's gaze completely captivated, Arthur could only helplessly rub his forehead. He truly hadn't expected that a table full of food would be more important than his charm.

"Um, if you don't mind, would you like to join us?"

As soon as Arthur finished speaking, Artoria directly sat down. "Since you, Arthur, have so kindly invited me, I won't stand on ceremony."

Artoria truly didn't stand on ceremony with Arthur. In fact, if it were anyone else, even if Artoria liked the food this much, she wouldn't easily dine with them. But facing Arthur, Artoria completely relaxed.

And Arthur, seeing Artoria so happy, was also very pleased. Not only was he happy that Artoria wasn't being a stranger to him, but it also showed that Artoria was gradually starting to think things through.

"Um, King Arthur, hello," Irisviel also walked over. Arthur nodded, and the knights all made space for the two of them.

"Artoria, let me introduce you," Arthur said, pointing to the sunny, lively, and energetic girl across from them. "Kay. My knight. And her teammates."

"Hello, Knight King," Kay respectfully returned the greeting. Although she didn't agree with Artoria's wish, she was still moved by Artoria's selfless devotion to her Kingdom.

"Hello, Kay," Artoria nodded in return.

Arthur also asked curiously, "Artoria, how do you have time to come out?"

"Of course, if it's to track down Caster," Before Artoria could answer, Irisviel replied for her.

Arthur nodded in understanding. After all, Gilles had made too many mistakes; it was time to deal with him directly.

Afterward, Arthur directly ordered a table full of the Manchu Han Imperial Feast for Artoria. He wasn't afraid of wasting food; with Artoria around, food was impossible to waste.

Arthur looked at Artoria affectionately, but he didn't know that while he was looking at Artoria, Jeanne beside him was already a little jealous.

At the same time, Jeanne seemed to silently make a decision in her heart.

After they had their fill, Arthur and Artoria parted ways. Arthur and Jeanne returned to Tokiomi Tosaka's home.

Arthur escorted Jeanne back to her room. Just as he was about to leave, Jeanne grabbed his hand.

"Arthur, do you… do you know about mana transfer?" Jeanne's voice was so soft that if Arthur's hearing wasn't so good, he might not have heard her.

"I know, mana transfer is…"

Just as Arthur was about to speak, he remembered the Jeanne before him.

"Jeanne, you need mana transfer!"

"Mm," Jeanne nodded, her face slightly flushed.

Arthur saw Jeanne's beautiful appearance at this moment and couldn't help but feel stirred.

"Jeanne, don't force yourself." Arthur seemed to think of something else and looked at Jeanne again.

"I'll take care of Gilles. Don't worry."

"No," Jeanne shook her head. "I've thought about it for a long time, and I've realized… I might like you. So, all of this is voluntary. Arthur, I like you."

What else could Arthur say? The girl had taken such initiative. Arthur said nothing, simply embracing Jeanne.

"No regrets?"

"No regrets!" Seeing the firmness on Jeanne's face, Arthur said no more and directly moved towards Jeanne. Jeanne didn't resist; she even actively cooperated.

"Ah! It hurts."

"Sorry."

Finally, after a soft moan from the woman, the world had lost another maiden and gained another wife.
