BOOOOM!!!
A powerful explosion tore through the air, hurling Kael backwards like a ragdoll. He was thrown
several meters, crashing hard against the stone wall of the dungeon.
Dust and smoke filled the space.
Kael lay motionless on the ground. His clothes were torn, blood trickled from the corner of his mouth, and his body was covered in burns and bruises.
He tried to move—but pain shot through every muscle. He couldn't lift a finger.
"…Aahhh…" he groaned weakly, barely able to speak. His vision blurred as he slipped in and out of consciousness.
Meanwhile, far from Kael's position—
A thunderous boom echoed through the dungeon.
Cecelia froze. Her eyes widened.
"…What was that?"
The sound had come from deep within the tunnels—and it was loud enough that the rest of the group heard it too.
"Did you hear that?" one student whispered, gripping their weapon tightly.
Another looked around nervously. "Was that… an explosion?"
More voices rose in murmurs and panic.
