Back at the Scene – Kael and the Aftermath
By the time Group One, Group Three, and the medical team arrived at the site of the explosion, Professor Yulia and the remaining students of Group Two had already begun clearing the area.
The air was thick with heat and the sharp, bitter smell of burned spell. The once-solid dungeon floor was now cracked and blackened.
Pieces of rock were scattered everywhere, and smoke drifted slowly through the tunnel like fog. Bits of glowing ash still hung in the air, falling like silent snow.
Even though the battle had ended, the air felt heavy—like the walls themselves had witnessed something.
In the center of it all, Kael lay still.
His body was sprawled on the ground, his clothes torn, stained with dirt and blood. Cuts lined his arms.
A line of blood came from the side of his mouth. He was breathing lightly and unevenly.
And he was barely alive.
Cecelia was kneeling right beside him, her hands were trembling as she touched his forehead.
