Chapter 34 - 34 . Festival of Light

Preparations for Ravenswood's first Festival of the Web filled the town with a sense of excitement and renewal. Banners of deep blue and silver were strung between lanterns, and the square was swept clean until the stones gleamed in the afternoon sun. The mayor declared the festival a celebration of truth and unity, inviting every villager to share a story, a song, or a memory.

Alex, Mara, and Eli worked side by side, helping to decorate the square and set long tables with bread, fruit, and flowers. The Shadow Weaver, visible only to those who believed, watched from the chapel's shadowed doorway, his presence a silent blessing. As dusk fell, the villagers gathered, lighting candles and weaving ribbons into a great tapestry that would hang in the chapel as a symbol of their renewed oaths.

When night deepened, Alex stood before the crowd. "This festival is not just for joy, but for remembrance. Every thread in our web is a promise to face the darkness together." The villagers cheered, and as music and laughter filled the air, the web above shimmered brighter than ever, its light a beacon against the night.

For the first time in many seasons, Ravenswood felt whole. The wounds of the past were not forgotten, but they were no longer chains. As the festival drew to a close, Alex looked up at the glowing web, feeling hope and gratitude swell in their chest. The future was uncertain, but the town was ready to face it—united, resilient, and unafraid.
