Chapter 76 - Julian Evergreen The Demon Academy Prodigy

I sat propped on the plush living room sofa, the Devil's Diary (D&D) newspaper open on my crossed legs.

I took a slow sip of warm rose tea, the fragrant steam rising to meet my nose, before gently placing the cup on the table before me.

The crackling fire in the hearth cast an orange glow, its warmth complemented by the soft flicker of candles adorning the walls, enveloping the room in a rich, inviting ambiance.

My picture dominated the front page of D&D: myself in a tailored suit, holding a glass jar containing Lady Beatrice's ashes. Behind me, Cupcake and the other girls followed into the Tulp garden, with the Queen and nobles trailing closely.

My eyes scanned the bold headline: "Controversial 'False King' Leads Beatrice's Funeral Procession."

I scoffed, taking another slow sip of tea. ''False King,'' they called me,' I mused, 'typical D&D, always sensationalizing, always stirring the pot.'
