Chapter 216: Daimons Attacks Again
After determining the stakes, SHIELD began arrangements based on the premise of intercepting Daimons, the first step being to transfer the wounded.
The wounded were not only Peter and his team, but also many SHIELD Agents, all thanks to the Hellfire summoned by Daimons. Even with so many Heroes besieging it, the Hellfire still destroyed an entire Block.
After research by Tony and Strange in both Science and Magic aspects, the Corpse of the Hellfire, after losing that purple Energy, was just ordinary Rock, with nothing special about it.
Secondly, it was necessary to transfer those Super villains away. If they took advantage of the chaos during Daimons' attack, even the Avengers would feel a headache.
Finally, of course, it was to gather Manpower, especially spellcasters. Dealing with an enemy like Daimons, undoubtedly the Magical Side is more effective. Although there is Strange, the Supreme Mage, sitting in command, in this regard, more Manpower is definitely better than less.
Strange did not feel that Fury was underestimating him. Perhaps when he was still a Genius Doctor, he was an unruly person, but after becoming the Supreme Mage, rationality became his new favorite.
Strange actively sought out many mages. Although they were not Heroes, their Strength was not to be underestimated, and each had their own unique skills. This was also the reason why the Supreme Mage sought them out.
As for whether Daimons knew Karn was in their hands, that was not something anyone could know. However, everyone knew they couldn't afford to gamble. After all, Magic is a mysterious thing, who knew if Daimons had the kind of Magic to find people?
And so, everything was proceeding in an orderly manner, just waiting for Daimons, this Big Fish, to fall into this carefully woven net.
As for Daimons? He actually hadn't left TRN-123 Universe. He just relied on Teleportation Magic to find a secluded place to lie dormant, recovering Celestial Energy, preparing to recover and then kill Karn.
Did Daimons know where Karn was? The answer was yes. This method of finding Karn still originated from Celestial Energy.
Spellcasters who mastered Celestial Energy possessed the Ability to see Aura. They could see the Aura of Creatures. Through Aura, spellcasters could sense the emotions and intentions of Creatures, using this for Mind Reading, and also see the health and authenticity of Creatures.
Similarly, relying on Aura, spellcasters could also track targets. Places where targets had stayed, items they had touched, all of these would have Aura residue. Based on these alone, spellcasters could use Tracking Technique.
Therefore, Daimons already knew that Karn's current Position was in the Sky. According to his speculation, it should be at SHIELD's Sky Base.
"It seems Karn must have been captured by SHIELD," Daimons murmured.
This was not difficult to guess. Daimons had also traversed many Universes, and SHIELD could be considered his old opponent. During the previous battle, he had recognized Nick Fury, that bald head.
If Karn was still alive, in order to make himself feel better, he would definitely tell Nick Fury everything. After all, the Inheritors family no longer existed, and keeping the family's Secret was useless. It would be better to tell everything in exchange for a glimmer of Life. Anyway, if Daimons was the one captured, he would definitely do so.
Thinking of this, Daimons suddenly froze. He realized that he didn't seem to know Younger brother at all. In his impression, Karn seemed to only have the adjective "blockhead." Daimons could only think from his own perspective about what Karn would do.
Rubbing his Temple, Daimons felt a headache. Thinking was never his forte. Usually, if any Problem arose, Jennix was responsible. Encountering this kind of thing that required using his Brain, he was really in a bit of a dilemma.
"I really do miss Jennix a bit," Daimons' Eyes revealed a look of reminiscence, but it was quickly replaced by cruelty.
"After killing Karn and returning, I will beg Master to reward me with Jennix's Soul. I want to make him into something that specializes in thinking for me."
Family affection? It never existed for Daimons. After he embarked on the path of pursuing Power, there was no turning back. He could only go all the way to the end.
Daimons emptied his Brain, and his Body once again hid in the darkness, secretly accumulating Power.
Time flew by, and a week quickly passed. SHIELD's vigilance did not slacken in the slightest. Every day, a Hero was stationed there, and other Heroes were on standby at any time, ready to come to support as soon as something happened.
There was no other way. Heroes also had their own Life and couldn't guard SHIELD around the clock.
Even so, Manpower was still sufficient, because Peter and his team's injuries had almost recovered. Even Daniel, who was most seriously injured, could get out of bed and walk, but he still couldn't participate in combat.
Because Nick Fury's leave for them still had time left, they naturally joined the standby. Of course, considering they were still High School students, daily study was still essential. Fortunately, SHIELD Agents were all highly educated, and tutoring them was more than enough.
"Now we've really become Boy Scouts," Peter complained, slumped on the Table.
"When exactly will that Daimons come!" Sam grabbed his Head and roared frantically. He was impatient by nature and couldn't stand this kind of endless waiting the most.
"Quiet, you two," Daniel, in Plaster, reminded the two. He was the only patient now.
"Wait patiently, accumulate Power, and then we can defeat the invading enemy in one fell swoop."
"I agree with that," Ava said, twirling a pen in her hand. "Having experienced the last disastrous defeat, we should have grown."
"I agree too," Luke subconsciously touched his Shoulder. Although the injury there had healed, he still felt a lingering fear.
"It was the first time I've been in so much pain, but it's not all bad. At least I know there's something that can cut through my Skin."
Karn's Energy Steel Fork reminded him that his Skin was not indestructible. After testing these past few days, Luke discovered that a Medical Laser Scalpel could cut through his Skin.
"I think we should still work on Team Cooperation," Nova suggested. The experience of not being able to fire for a long time was not good.
Peter didn't speak. After all, according to Karn, they Inheritors were the bane of all Spider-Man, so his Spider-Sense had no reaction. He couldn't be blamed for this, as Spider-Man's combat was inseparable from Spider-Sense.
Peter's team discussed their respective Ideas, wanting to go further. The battle with Karn had given these young people a real lesson. Being a Superhero was not a Game, people could actually die.
"Boom!"
Suddenly, a huge sound came, followed by a tremor in Sky Base. Peter and the others knew, the enemy had arrived.
