Victor leaned back slightly, raising an eyebrow. "You're not finding anything, young lady. Listen, Sophie, it's not your job to be suspicious of people. That's something the adults will handle, okay?"
Sophie pouted but nodded slowly. "Okay, Uncle Victor."
"Good." He ruffled her hair gently. "You're too young to be stressing over who's pretending or not. Just enjoy being a kid."
Just then, Elena walked in with a soft smile. "Sorry to interrupt your little detective session, but I think your friends have arrived. They're waiting in the living room."
"Okay, Mum!" Sophie brightened. "Uncle Victor, come pick a dress for me to wear."
Victor's eyes widened. "Nope. I don't know anything about female fashion."
"Yes, you do," she insisted. "I want you to choose. I'll wear whatever you pick."
