"What do you want now, Val?"
It was the first thing out of Mark's mouth when his office door swung open, there was no greeting and no courtesy. Just a blank stare, he was still itching from last night.
Valerie breezed in any way, heels clacking, skirt tight, and confidence radiating off her like overpriced perfume. His sister was always like this, and he knew she needed something. She got what she wanted from her brother.
She leaned against the door, flipping her hair.
"Calm down, big brother. Is that how you welcome your favourite sibling?"
Mark didn't look up from his desk.
"You're my only sibling. And I'm busy."
"Too busy to see the sister who just saved your reputation?" she said, batting her lashes with mock sweetness.
He narrowed his eyes. "What reputation?"
Valerie crossed the room and sat, without invitation on the edge of the leather chair across from him.
