Chapter 80 - This Case Isn’t Simple!

Nanyang Police Station.

After handing over their personal belongings, all six of them were led into a group interrogation room.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the hallway, two men were walking side by side.

One of them, dressed in a police uniform, was a rotund man with thinning hair and a shrewd look etched between his brows. As they walked, he spoke obsequiously to the man beside him.

"Master Qiu, don't worry. We'll push the criminal division to crack this case and arrest the culprits as soon as possible."

Two days ago, a factory owned by Nanyang Mechanical Holdings had been robbed—some precision machine components had gone missing.

The entire Nanyang Police Department was shaken. As the pinnacle of Nanyang's manufacturing industry, losing precision parts was no trivial matter.

Even the Secretary's Office of Nanyang had gotten involved, applying intense pressure for a swift resolution.

At that moment, Qiu Huan stared ahead, ignoring the vice director's pandering. Instead, he looked with interest at the door of the interrogation room and casually pointed with his chin.

"What did those people do?"

The vice director followed his gaze, puzzled for a second.

Just then, the door to the interrogation room opened, and one of the officers walked out. The vice director quickly waved him over.

"Xiao Wang, what case are you working on?"

Officer Xiao Wang, holding a notepad, hurried over and greeted him. "Vice Director, we got a text message at dispatch just now—someone reported a kidnapping. We just rounded up the suspects—both men and women—and brought them in. Getting ready to interrogate them."

The vice director listened, still not thinking much of it, and turned to Qiu Huan with a tentative smile.

"Master Qiu, is there something suspicious about this case?"

Qiu Huan raised a brow with a faint smirk, his expression unreadable.

That girl he saw earlier—wasn't she Li Qiao, the one always by Boss Shang's side?

Kidnapping gang? Now this was getting interesting.

Soon after, Qiu Huan left the station, but the vice director stood at the entrance replaying that look on his face.

Relying on years of reading people in the field, he suddenly felt…

This kidnapping case wasn't simple.

With that, he slapped his thigh and barked at Xiao Wang, who was still following him around like a puppy:

"Go! Separate those suspects—interrogate them one by one. And interrogate the one who called the cops too. If anyone refuses to cooperate, hold them for three days first!

Also, get the intel department to pull all their records—let me see them first!"

——

Inside the interrogation room, Li Qiao, Li Shaoquan, and the others stood against the wall. Four officers sat across from them.

The lead officer, a seasoned interrogator, looked at the strange case file in front of him with a baffled expression. He tapped on the table.

"Who called the police?"

He'd handled countless cases, but never something as bizarre as this.

The girl timidly raised her head and answered in a trembling voice, "I-I did."

The officer glanced at her. "What's your relationship with the kidnapped victim?"

"He's my boyfriend."

"I have nothing to do with her."

The two voices overlapped—hers and Li Shaoquan's.

The officer immediately pointed at Li Shaoquan and warned, "I didn't ask you. Don't speak."

A heavy silence followed.

Then the lead interrogator rubbed his temples and asked, visibly frustrated,

"You and the so-called kidnapper… are siblings?"

God knows what kind of messed-up kidnapping case this was. The sister called the police claiming her boyfriend had been kidnapped…

But the kidnapper was her brother, and the supposed victim was another guy.

And when the armed police arrived at the scene, not only was the door wide open—

The so-called "kidnapper" was lying sprawled at the feet of a beautiful girl.

The whole scene was a mess.

If you didn't know better, you'd think they were filming a drama about a family turning in its own blood for justice.
