Chapter 37 - CHAPTER THIRTY-SIX

Charles was driving home to the warehouse, already accustomed to such meetings as they had agreed upon with Jake. He no longer needed to explain himself to that person. He will do his best to find answers for himself as well.

His accomplices welcomed him when he arrived. The warehouse, filled with the cries and wails of its victims, is once again bustling with activity.

He is still adjusting to this job. So, he steels himself whenever he has to throw something away.

He could clearly hear the laughter of the Fuego partners again; he peeked to see what the excitement was about.

He noticed that their boss had returned; he saw a body that was almost completely stripped of flesh. On the black market, the victim's flesh fetches high prices.

Occasionally, the lifeless body serves as the substance of the drugs they sell to their partners.

"Hey," called Giovane to him.

He didn't answer; instead, he quietly went to the location where Giovane was sitting. He was sitting, holding the phone in one hand.

"I received the message you sent me." He said it out loud.

He just nodded.

"You take care of your plan because I always trust you." Giovane said.

"I'll take a break for now; I still have important people to meet this afternoon." Giovane added and tapped his shoulder.

He has a reason for being here in the organization; he wants to answer the questions that have long troubled him since his youngest sibling died before the two children of Fuego.

His younger sister was a college student who remained quiet amidst the chaotic surroundings. She quietly made her way home to them safely.

His youngest sibling suddenly went missing that night after coming home from school. His father almost went crazy when his younger sister went missing back then, until he asked for help from his older brother.

Jake and Charles are siblings and are related through their mother, which is why he knew he wasn't close to the Roman family. They helped him search without expecting anything in return, but he still couldn't find his missing sibling.

One day, someone discovered a body in the nearby town. Fortunately, he spotted his sister's body, a sight that nearly dashed his hopes. The sight of his sister's returned body nauseated him.

His father almost lost consciousness when they saw the corpse; he recognized it by the clothes it was wearing and the birthmark near its chest.

Since then, he observed who was doing this evil deed. Charles subsequently informed Jake about the incident.

There, he was inducted into the organization and allowed to learn the truth about the one he had joined. He heard many stories and confirmed that this was what was tormenting his youngest, who was completely unaware of why it was happening to her.

He encountered numerous individuals, and he was present during the murders of the two siblings and his organization's friend, Fernan.

His anger intensified his long-planned revenge that he had been scheming for a long time.

I will kill them all. He thought to himself, feeling a rage coursing through his veins.

He would use the information he knew to bring down whoever was at the head of this organization.

When Fernan was killed, he spent even more time being daring with the tasks given to him; he blindly followed the orders given to him until he reached the point of becoming Giovane's right-hand man. In the position he reached, he was able to gather a lot of information.

A cry from the torture room interrupted his contemplation. Even though he wanted to ignore it, he couldn't avoid it.

Cath, were you tormented by these demons like this? Charles asked himself.

Guess I'm also one of the demons that torment you. But this is the demon that will bring them down. Just don't lose patience; we will achieve justice.

He passed by a room. The warehouse has many rooms where the horrific things are happening.

"Zenne," he noticed it.

He just nodded at it, and it understood the nod he made earlier. He passed by many rooms back then.

He first went to the slaughter area, where it was sold to the black market in the town, known only to those involved in the organization; it was sold for much more than its price.

"Is it ready?" He asked his companions.

His colleagues just nodded.

"Where is the location of that sale?" he asked.

The man immediately told him. At that moment, he simply nodded in response.

"Hey, Charles." Giovane suddenly called out to him.

He turned around.

"Accompany them to deliver the double-dead meat in case an enemy catches a whiff, and there will be sabotage again." He said softly to him.

"Got it." That's all he said.

As Giovane told him, he accompanied the van to take him to the nearby town where they are now located.

"Please be careful about that." He reminded them to exercise caution.

He was in the car, waiting for the black market meat to be arranged.

He texted a location to someone to sabotage the black market again. When his companions were finishing up, he immediately entered and drove away.

He has many plans in mind, but he needs to calm down, or he might fall into the enemy's trap without realizing it due to his wrong move.

He is being very cautious about the events happening now, especially since Giovane is suspicious of the organization. He knows the reverse psychology that Giovane is using on him, so he doesn't let himself be caught or show any signs of what he's doing.

I'll let him make the first move. These tasks are his forte. He thought to himself.

The darkness has already set in— the darkness that heralds greed for humanity. He just sighed as he traversed the distant place where their warehouse stood.

He looked back at it; from a distance, the warehouse was hardly noticeable, just an old, neglected warehouse. But the chill he feels for the victims he sees every day is still there.
