While Thranduil battled the servants of the Old Gods, Galen and Bwonsamdi had already slipped into Serpentine Canyon. This was the base camp of the Sethrak. After Sethraliss died, her devout followers had transported her remains back and built a temple, awaiting her resurrection.
Upon entering the canyon, Galen immediately saw Sethrak corpses everywhere. The happiest person about this scene was Bwonsamdi. He walked, waving his hands, and the power of death spread from his grasp, collecting the souls of the Sethrak wandering the canyon.
Bwonsamdi is the God of Death. His duty is to guide the souls of the trolls through the entrance of his underworld into the Shadowlands. Simply put, he is the gatekeeper of the Shadowlands in the material world of Azeroth. Azeroth is vast, and Bwonsamdi's primary business group is the trolls, while other areas are handled by Helya and the Val'kyr. Galen surmised that Bwonsamdi wouldn't send the souls of these Sethrak to the Shadowlands and hand them over to Mueh'zala. He would definitely use them to enrich himself and enhance his own strength.
"The Sethrak Civil War! I love it! Man, it was a wise decision to follow you on this journey," Bwonsamdi beamed with joy. With so many souls, he would be able to further increase his strength. "The trolls in the east have been very strange in recent years. As far as I know, they've fought hundreds of battles, big and small, and many trolls have died. But I've never seen the souls of the Amani and Gurubashi trolls walk into my underworld palace!"
"Haha Bwonsamdi, you have your secrets, and I have mine," Galen replied. "The deal doesn't include exchanging secrets. If you want to know, we can always add some cooperation terms."
"Hey, trust takes time, mon. I think it's pretty good for now." Bwonsamdi was an old, cunning fellow, still wary of Galen.
Galen shrugged and didn't press the topic. After Sen'jin and Zul'jin declared Bwonsamdi the Supreme Loa in their tribes, the immense power of faith would become the best bait.
Galen continued deeper, searching for surviving Sethrak while looking for the temple's location. He recalled there were three Sethrak leaders: Sulthis, Warwick, and Korthek. Of these, Sulthis and Warwick still adhered to the faith of Sethraliss, but it was unknown if these two Sethrak had died in this civil war.
(I don't think it's warwick awaiting a loremaster)
Soon, they reached the depths of the canyon and saw a group of Sethrak fighting each other. This was the first time Galen had seen living Sethrak. Like other beast races, the Sethrak had human-like torsos with slender, canine-like legs in the lower body and a cobra-like head on their necks. Their bodies were covered with emerald green scaly skin, and they had a snake tail growing behind their buttocks.
Judging from the battle, the attacking group of Sethrak had stronger fighting will, better equipment, and greater numbers, putting the Sethrak guarding the temple at a disadvantage. Among the attackers, there were also some two-headed ogres! Some kind of cooperation between the Unbelievers and the Twilight Cult?
"Oh my god, oh my god, it's so rare to see compatriots killing each other. I think Sethraliss's coffin may not be able to hold it down anymore," Bwonsamdi said, covering his mouth but unable to hide his grin.
"Bwonsamdi, you've collected so many souls. It would be unreasonable if you didn't show your miracle to save those Sethrak."
"Humph!" The Troll Death God likely thought Galen had a point. He spread his arms, using his divine power to lift his entire body into the air. As green soul power surrounded him, a red moon appeared in the dark clouds.
"Arise, dead!"
Corpses burst from the ground, and the Sethrak lying dead stood up again!
"It's Bwonsamdi! Sethraliss, our beloved god, has appeared and asked him to come to help us!"
The Sethrak priests wore gorgeous robes adorned with gems from the Vol'dun Desert. The scales on both sides of their earlobes had blue lines that would light up from time to time, emitting light like arc lightning. That was the power of thunder and lightning, a powerful force bestowed by the Sethrak Loa Sethraliss whom they served.
"Attack, pious warriors, attack, and defeat these faithless Sethrak!" With the encouragement of the old priest, the devout Sethrak, originally at a disadvantage, seemed injected with adrenaline. They spewed their snake tongues from their mouths and let out hissing war roars as they resisted. Even the seriously injured Sethrak struggled to pick up their scimitars, climbing up to rejoin the battle.
What a great trick to resurrect the dead! Galen praised in his heart. In the past, Galen focused on playing the Death Knight profession because he felt that the Death Knight was very powerful when leading a large army. For this purpose, Galen specially set up a shouting macro. Bwonsamdi's Resurrection of the Dead was certainly stronger than an ordinary Death Knight's, and even not far behind Arthas in his prime. After all, he had been the God of Death for thousands of years, which was enough time for even a pig to grasp the essence of the subject.
The surviving Sethrak warriors were elite fighters who had experienced hundreds of battles. Together with the endless army of the dead, they quickly defeated the attacking faithless Sethrak. Galen observed that the fighting power of the Sethrak warriors was quite ordinary. After all, their bodies were relatively slender, much like the Blood Elves, and they didn't produce many warriors. The more outstanding ones were the Sethrak stalkers and skycallers.
Skycallers are the name given to the Sethrak spellcasters who worship Sethraliss, a Loa who grants believers the power to call down storms and warp the land into desert. The Sethrak assassins were adept at a medium- to long-range attack method called blow darts, using a blowgun to shoot poisonous arrows. The poison on the Sethrak's blowgun darts was quite potent, not only paralyzing prey but also killing it within a minute.
After the army of the unbelievers was defeated, they fled in all directions. The believers were relatively small in number and did not choose to pursue them. They retreated back to the deepest part of the temple.
