Cielo Bianci didn't get far, he only made it past Alexander before he lost all the strength in his limbs.
"Cielo!" Luna shot to her feet in fright, already hurrying over at the same time that her brother fell into Luka's arms.
The red-haired Vampire glanced down at the unconscious apparition in his arms, an almost wry expression on his face.
By the time Luna Bianci hurried over, her younger brother had opened his eyes. His avoidant pale blue eyes had turned sultry red, hidden beneath pale lashes.
Luna's delicate features wore a stern look of disapproval as she checked on her brother. "Your Highness said he would make non-alcoholic drinks available at the table, yet Cielo is terribly drunk off pressed grapes."
Elio stood behind his betrothed, he didn't intervene but his black eyes were burning holes through Luka. He didn't appreciate anything upsetting his beloved.
Alessio wore a look of horror, drinking that much alcohol couldn't be safe for a Bianci. "I certainly made the request for pressed grapes to be available," He rose to his feet, approaching. "I'll take this up with the kitchens."
Luna sighed, she knew that Alessio wasn't behind this, she was just worried for her brother. She reached out to take him out of Luka's arms, despite looking so frail, she had Vampiric strength, so carrying her younger brother to somewhere private would be easy for her.
Cielo cringed from her touch and tucked his face into Luka's chest. He said nothing, but his actions were loud enough.
Elio stepped forward now and wrapped his arm around his distressed betrothed. "Cielo will need to feed, if I could trouble Lord Luka to take him out of the hall." There was nothing polite about his tone.
Luka rose to his feet with the Vampire clinging to him, addressing Alessio. "I'll deal with the kitchens, there has to have been a misunderstanding somewhere."
Alessio nodded, but his worried expression didn't ease. "I'll be honored to offer my blood to Cielo…"
"There's no reason to cut the celebrations short," Luka interrupted through gritted teeth. "I'll handle it."
Alessio looked like he would like to protest, the trinkets in his hair making a pleasing sound every time they knocked against each other.
Crown Prince Elio interjected before he could. "Lord Luka is right, Cielo will be alright, we'll make sure of it." He reassured calmly, leading Luna out of the hall.
Alessio watched them leave before slowly returning to his seat. He turned to Silvan, his concern coalescing into horror. "Silvan! The wines all have alcohol in them!"
Silvan, who had noticed this from the start, remained calm. "I've only had a glass," He said honestly.
Alessio looked at all the jugs and bottles on the table, it was just him and the two human Princes left at their table, Prince Alexander constantly looking at the doors Cielo had gone through.
Alexander barely paid attention to the matter of the wines, his thoughts occupied by other things. Why had Alessio offered his blood? Cielo was a Vampire, wouldn't he need human blood?
"I'll have the rest of the wine cleared away," Alessio decided, the drinking party was ruined, and he had only managed to drink a few glasses.
Silvan leaned back in his chair, he had an inkling that Luka had something to do with this. If he hadn't noticed the faux pressed grapes, he would most likely be in the same boat as Cielo, and that would have caused a much larger scene.
Was Luka really willing to ruin the alliance over his personal feelings?
"You're not going to drink anymore?" He asked the wilting Vampire next to him. Alessio had been really excited about the drinking party, but all that had been washed away.
Alessio pushed his hand through his hair, only to stop halfway when he touched the crystal accessories in his hair. "It's only right…"
"You're not responsible for the kitchen's faults," Silvan cut him off. Not quite sure if he was intervening because he didn't like seeing Alessio despondent, or because he didn't appreciate him taking the blame for something deliberately orchestrated by Luka.
"And tomorrow your ban begins. I'm not a great drinker, but maybe Alexander could humor you." He tagged on, holding a goblet of water between his fingers.
After a single goblet of wine, he felt mostly fine, none of the floaty absent-mindedness from that morning.
Alexander focused on their conversation, his thoughts had been occupied by Cielo prior. "I'd be honored to share a drink with Your Highness," He agreed easily.
Silvan was slightly surprised, not by Alexander agreeing but because his older brother hadn't stolen the chance to make a jab at him like he usually would have.
"Will Cielo Bianci be alright, however?" Alexander rose from his seat to sit closer now that it was just the three of them at the table. "I heard you offer to give him your blood," He gulped as he said that, "Is he sick?"
Silvan hadn't paid attention to that but now his curiosity was piqued. Looking to Alessio for an answer.
"Biancis only feed on Vampire blood, they're unsullied by human blood." Alessio informed them, relaxing gradually.
Cielo did have his sister, Elio, and Luka with him, they would definitely make sure that the Vampire was alright.
Both brothers at the table were pleased by Alessio's words for different reasons. Alexander was pleased that he didn't have to be wary of Cielo, and Silvan was impressed to find out about Vampires that didn't hunt humans, he would have a lot to speak to Cielo Bianci about.
Alessio poured himself a glass of wine, trying the 'pressed grapes'. His accessories clicked as he drank it down, his eyes going wide at the unnatural strength of the wine.
Despite being lighter and sweeter, a single goblet slowed down his impulses, his eyes drooping slightly. It didn't stop him from remembering to order some true pressed grapes for Silvan.
"Seeing as it is just the two of us," Alexander began, lighthearted from the information he had just learned. "Why don't we have a friendly drinking competition?" He asked lightly, lifting his goblet. "Silvan can play judge."
Some of the excitement came back into Alessio's eyes at that, "As long as you don't mind," He demurred even as he was filling his goblet once more.
