As she glanced around the market, everything looked normal at first. But there were still things that surprised her.
One stall, for example, was selling a green cream that people used on their faces. Kaya stared at it, confused.
It looked like something straight out of a witch's kitchen—thick, green, and weirdly shiny. The seller said it was for beauty, but Kaya felt disgusted just looking at it.
No way I'm putting that on my face, she thought. What if it makes me uglier? Forget it.
She moved on quickly.
Looking at the items in Rin's arms, she sighed. Her money was already gone. Every coin she had was spent. And honestly? Even that wasn't enough.
She had already borrowed a little from Rean and his clan, promising she'd pay it back later. It was the only reason she was able to buy this much.
They kept walking, almost done for the day.
But then, something made Kaya stop.
It was a stall.
A meat stall.
She stared.
