What do Jack and Maddie do on camping trips? Hunt Ghosts.
The Fentons arrived at the secluded campground after dark, so they had to set up tents by lamplight. Danny helped where he could, but he was too young to really do any good. After a while, Jazz asked him to sit on a log and play with his toy rocketship. It was easier than letting him mess up their work. As it was, Jazz wanted to have her parents sit out while she put up the tents, but she was too small to reach the top. Between the three of them, they would figure it out… eventually. Danny fell asleep before they finished, though.
Mom, Dad, and Jazz woke up bright and early the next day. Danny blearily stumbled out of bed when he smelled bacon. The family discussed their plans for the trip while they ate.
"After breakfast," Mom said, "we'll head down to the lake and let you kids swim around for a bit."
"Your mom and I will hunt for ghosts!" Dad boomed.
Mom put a hand on his shoulder. "No, Jackie, we'll be watching the kids."
"Oh, uh, that too."
"We'll have lunch on the beach–"
"And then we'll hunt ghosts?"
"No, it'll still be daytime," Mom said gently. "After lunch, the kids can play in the water for a little longer, and then we'll come back to the campsite and have showers."
"Then we'll hunt ghosts?"
"No, then we have dinner and s'mores and play games."
Dad looked at Mom expectantly. She sighed. "Yes, then we hunt ghosts."
"Whoo!"
Jazz and Danny shared a look.
"Hey," Danny said, "at least we get to play in the lake all day!"
