Chapter 3 - Dropped Cake

MEANWHILE, AT THE PARTY, people were walking around and having jovial conversations in the fancy mansion. The place was adorned with pillars that looked like waves, and schools of fish were painted on the blue ceiling to make it look like the entire ballroom was underwater. Greens and flowers hung from the sides of the pillars as chandeliers lit the room.

There was a table filled with delicious desserts. Cake slices where put on plates, and cupcakes were on a tier. The table was lit by candles.

A big man with a fancy suit carried his baby boy was accompanied by a guard monster. As they passed through the hallway, they could see different portraits.

One portrait showcased a drop of liquid with a skull on it. Another painting portrayed a large waterbeast with a star shape on it's head holding a cloud which rained on the castle and the kingdom of Harmishworth. Ships sailed in the waters nearby. The last portrait depicted a man wearing a beard, a large Burberry gabardine coat with strong canvas wrapped boots. He was standing on a high place and standing face to face with a huge waterbeast with a star shape on its head flying in the air and powering over him, giving the man its full attention.

The guard monster was silent, "..."

The big man, however, said clear and directly to his baby son, "WASN'T THIS PARTY SUPERB? I'M GLAD WILLIAM IS HERE WITH US, OR ELSE I WOULDN'T HAVE GONE!" The big man said, gesturing towards William, the guard monster, who was holding a plate with a slice of cake on it.

As they went outside, the big man said, "IT'S SUCH A BEAUTIFUL NIGHT TO GO STROLLING. LET'S VISIT THE GARDEN!"

After walking around for a few minutes, they passed by the water beast fountain. "THIS PLACE SURE BRINGS BACK MEMORIES" the big guy said. "SEE THAT WATERBEAST WATER FOUNTAIN? THAT'S WHERE I PROPOSED TO YOUR MOTHER!" He laughed, he chuckle rocking his baby son in his arm.

Suddenly, a cloaked figure dashed behind them.

The big man turned towards the noise. "What was that?"

As he turned, he heard a terrible noise emanating from William, the guard monster.

"WILLIAM! ARE YOU OKAY???"

The guard monster dropped the cake plate.

Reaching out to him, the big man said, "WILLIAM, WHAT'S WRONG?"

William said nothing. "..." As he sweated, he was feeling dizzy, like something was coming up.

Suddenly, he opened up his eyes. Two new narrow eyes popped up on either side of his eyes.

With a look of surprise, "!" William blobbed away. "..."

"WILLIAM!" The big man said, calling out to him.

There was no response. The big man sighed. "... WALKING OFF THE JOB. THAT'S COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE!" He turned to his baby son. "YOU'RE NOT GOING TO WALK OFF YOUR JOB, WILL YOU, SON?" The son shook his head. "GOOD," the big man said.

He let out a sigh.

"I'LL TRAIN THOSE GUARD MONSTERS BETTER, NEXT TIME! QUITTING WHILE ON THE CLOCK WILL BE UNHEARD OF!!!" He said as he strutted off, going towards the exit.

Unbeknownst to him, there were statues in the background that showcased many different kinds of mischievous boys. A statue depicted a boy with freckles, with his fingers in wagging position in front of his forehead, and a smile like he was almost ready to tell a joke. The statue crumbled away into dust and was taken away by the wind.

Soon after, a large dark creature lurking in the shadows and hiding in the trees opened its eyes. It had three eyes, because one narrow eye was beside its right eye.

The dark mystery creature stealthily went in the shadows, seeking for prey.
