Chapter 51: "A Goddess in the Streets of Uttar Pradesh"

The dust hadn't settled when the sound of military choppers roared above the town. Sand whipped through the streets like a storm of urgency, military jeeps rumbled past vendors and narrow lanes, and the Indian tricolor fluttered with pride as armored soldiers dismounted—right outside Boby's family home in Uttar Pradesh.

It was a strange place. Half village, half city, like it couldn't decide whether to modernize or preserve its soul. That morning, both sides paused, eyes turned skyward.

Inside the gates of Boby's modest two-story house, a military officer stood sharply in uniform, his boots dusted with red earth. He looked at the young man standing calmly beside him.

> Officer (with a salute): "Boby, for your bravery, coordination, and cyber-intellect, the Indian Army offers you a permanent role in our Strategic Intelligence Division."

A quiet settled across the neighbors watching from behind fences and roofs.

> Boby (smiling politely): "Thank you, sir. Truly. But I'm just a guy who loves anime, manga, and stories. I don't want medals… but if my country ever needs me again—I'll be there."

The officer stared for a beat, then smiled.

> Officer: "That's the most patriotic answer I've heard in years."

They shook hands. A crowd of neighbors applauded. And the military withdrew.

Scene Change: Boby's Home, Later That Day

Real Boby walked through the front door, flanked by Raviel—who wore a soft modern Indian outfit she picked up at a Goa boutique. A loose pastel kurti with silver bangles, the wind playing with her hair.

His mother was the first to cry.

> Mother (pulling him into a tight hug): "Mera bacha! You didn't even call! What if something happened to you? You're all I have in this world."

> Boby (tears in his eyes): "Maa, I'm here. I'm okay now. Everything's okay."

His father, stern as ever, tried to stay composed—but his eyes betrayed him. His hug was stiff, short—but his hand lingered on Boby's shoulder longer than necessary.

> Father (gruffly): "Idiot. Don't go playing hero. You're our son, not a superhero."

> Boby (smirking): "Even heroes have families, papa."

And then came the real boss of the family—his sweet, tiny grandmother, who emerged with a silver walking stick, a bowl of tulsi water, and unstoppable sass.

> Grandmother (weeping): "Lalla! My Boby! Marry quickly before I forget how to dance at weddings!"

She dabbed her eyes with her saree and turned, her gaze falling on Raviel.

She paused.

Eyes widened. She shuffled closer.

> Grandmother (touching Raviel's cheek): "Hai Ram! She looks like Lakshmi Mata. Who is this goddess you found in Goa?"

> Boby (nervously): "Her name is Raviel… she's my friend."

> Grandmother (eyebrows raised): "Friend? Not girlfriend? Not fiancée? What is this generation? You brought Devi herself and called her 'friend'? I am heartbroken!"

The whole family burst out laughing—even Raviel.

She bowed sweetly.

> Raviel: "I'm honored, Dadi ji. I hope I earn your love."

> Grandmother (beaming): "You already did, beta. I approve. 100%."

Scene: Raviel's Real-World Curiosity

That evening, Raviel sat in the garden under the mango tree, munching on her first samosa and sipping sweet chai. Her face was flushed, her fingers slightly oily, but her smile was radiant.

> Raviel (eyes wide): "This… this 'masala' is a flavor supernova!"

> Boby (laughing): "Welcome to India."

> Raviel (chewing): "I have eaten the fire of stars. But this... this samosa has defeated me."

She took a sip of chai and whispered in reverence.

> Raviel: "This is the nectar of mortals. I fear I'll never ascend again."

---

Scene: Boby's Bedroom

Later, Raviel wandered into Boby's room. The space was humble, small, and cluttered with bookshelves, anime DVDs, and a laptop. But her eyes landed on something outrageous.

Along the wall were anime body pillows—Tsunade, Nami, Hinata, Android 18, Bulma, and several others. Even a poster of Boa Hancock winking seductively peeled at the corner.

> Raviel (freezing): "Boby… what. Is. This?"

> Boby (panicking): "Wait—WAIT—don't misinterpret!"

He ran over, grabbing the pillows and trying to stuff them in a cupboard. She folded her arms, raising an eyebrow.

> Raviel (playfully): "So many girls. Why didn't you marry one of them?"

> Boby (pulling her into a hug, eyes intense): "Because… the only woman I love in every timeline… is the one named Raviel."

He kissed her forehead. Her anger melted instantly.

> Raviel (blushing): "…Fine. But we're burning Boa Hancock after dinner."

Scene: Neighbors' Gossip

Outside the house, twenty-five aunties had gathered in shawls and curiosity.

> Aunty 1: "Arre, did you see her? Fair skin, long hair… like a film star!"

> Aunty 2: "Or a foreign queen. Where did Boby find her? Goa? Maybe he's doing love marriage!"

> Aunty 3 (peeking over the wall): "Maybe she's in films! Or YouTube!"

Suddenly, inside the courtyard, the temple lamp ignited on its own.

> Grandmother (startled): "Who lit the diya?!"

> Father (frowning): "I didn't."

> Mother: "Neither did I!"

> Grandmother (muttering): "Hmm… maybe the gods approve of this girl."

Closing Scene

That night, Boby and Raviel sat on the rooftop. Stars above. Quiet below. She leaned into his shoulder.

> Raviel: "I like it here. No systems. No divine power. Just you, me, and a cup of chai."

> Boby: "Let's live this life. Write it our way."

> Raviel: "And when your grandmother forces us to marry?"

> Boby (smiling): "Then I'll say yes… gladly."
