Cade felt a hand pull him into a room. The door closed.
"Hey!" His eyes widened angrily when he saw Talia.
"What are you doing here, you piece of trash?" Cade yelled.
"I should be asking you the same. Who invited someone like you to this baby shower? I thought you were a worker."
"Is it house worker, or sex worker? Don't blame me, I listened to the rumors." Cade couldn't control his anger.
"Talia. Why are you always in places you're not wanted? What were you doing in SeleneGala? Why did you touch Isla? Are you insane?"
"Isla. What made you and Isla so - informal? Isn't it supposed to be Miss. Sinclair, huh?! How dare you date someone else? What do you want our child to think?"
"All I want our child to think is that her mother is a fucker and the woman who can give her the best life is Isla Sinclair."
"What? Aren't you ashamed of yourself? After sleeping with me, you're here messing around with some model bitch. Is it because of the money? I have money! I have much money to give both you and your daughter the luxurious life you want."
"Shut up!" Cade wanted to leave the room but Talia held his arm. He jerked her off and looked scornfully into her eyes.
"The next time you try anything stupid with me, my daughter or Isla, you're going to regret it. And don't you ever try to go pick up my daughter from school anymore! Did you get that?"
"But we are her parents, Cade! Isla is the other woman."
"You're the other woman in our lives! Buzz off!" Cade pushed Talia when she held him and she fell to the ground.
"I heard noise in that room...." Isla noticed him closing the door.
"It's nothing. Let's go see Julie."
"Really nothing?"
"Yeah, I'm fine." He faked a smile and they went to Julie's room.
"Hey, Jules!!" Julie saw Cade and Isla standing near the door.
"Ahhh!!" She excitedly walked to Cade and greeted him.
"You're so heavy now!"
"The baby ruined my shape. It's freaking annoying, yunno."
"Just one more trimester and our baby girl will be here."
"I can't wait." Julie shared more exciting thoughts with Cade and Isla. But Isla noticed Cade's mind was far away from them.
"What's up?" Isla nudged Cade when Julie was off to get them gifts.
He sprang from his thoughts inmediatedly.
"Where's Julie?"
"Didn't you hear she went to get us the gifts?"
"Oh."
"What are you thinking about, Cade? Is it Talia? Did she say shit to you on the phone?"
"She was in that room. She is back and even crazier. She....she might hurt you."
"Really? But you said there was nothing to why you were so furious earlier."
"You know what, Isla, I think we should just move out of the city for a few weeks. Somewhere we can both sit and chill out of all these. Somewhere we can switch off our phones and just relax." Cade suggested, in a worried voice.
"Oh. But what about my schedule?" Cade paused his thoughts on having an already refreshing vacation with Isla.
"Okay! I'll cancel all the gigs I have for the next six weeks. Is it okay by you?" Cade nodded.
"It's gonna be the best vacation! So, where are we going?"
"What are you guys up to?" Julie came with some presents.
"We were thinking of - "
"We were thinking of leaving. Isla has a shoot and I have to return to Hollywood." Cade cut in.
"Oh. Aren't you gonna stay a bit more, Isla?"
"I'm staying. Cade just thinks I need to get to the shoot but yunno, I'm here for you." Cade awkwardly left the scene.
"Something's up with your man."
"Exactly."
"He's worried about me. He thinks Talia might harm me."
"Talia is nothing to the Daisy Damsels. We'll make sure she comes nowhere near you three."
"Oyi is a quaint town nestled in a valley, surrounded by lush green hills that gently roll into the horizon. The landscape is dotted with grazing cows, their coats shining in the sunlight, while chickens peck at the ground near rustic barns filled with the sweet aroma of fresh hay. Horses graze freely in the meadows, their manes flowing in the breeze.
The town's main road is a serene stretch of asphalt lined with tall trees that provide shade and a sense of tranquility. The road leads to a small shopping area with a few quaint stores and cafes, where locals gather to share stories and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. The houses in the town are sparse, each one surrounded by well-manicured lawns and vibrant gardens.
Beyond the town's limits, the landscape shifts to dense woods where more residents live in harmony with nature. The woods are home to the gentle songs of small birds and the soft hum of insects, creating a soothing background melody. The air is fresh, filled with the scent of hay and the earthy smell of the forest floor.
A large river flows gently through the landscape, its crystal-clear waters reflecting the beauty of the surrounding hills and trees. The riverbank is a perfect spot for relaxation, offering a serene view and the calming sound of flowing water.
This picturesque town is an ideal destination for those seeking a peaceful vacation and alone time. The absence of wild animals and the presence of domesticated creatures like cows, chickens, and horses add to the sense of safety and tranquility. The town's serene atmosphere, beautiful landscapes, and gentle wildlife make it a haven for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life."
"Wow, Oyi sounds like a really nice place to visit."
"What do you think Cade? Should we go there?" Cade nodded.
"Prepare our tickets. We are flying there."
"No. I want us to go with the train. I want us to feel the moment, view these things."
"Great idea. Train it is!" Isla was more than excited for the interesting journey ahead of her.
The journey was indeed memorable. Isla was making videos and laughing, while Cade watched her and shook his head.
"Hey!I told you not to make any videos of our locations."
"But I can't help it, just look at the beautiful weather!"
"Stop yelling, I can't afford anyone recognizing us now." He adjusted her nose mask.
Their apartment was extra cozy as they had soft beds and colorful furniture.
"Yayy!!" Cade shook his head again on seeing Isla bouncing on the bed.
"Come jump with me baby!" Isla shouted.
"This is the best day ever!!!"
"But why does everything look so ordinary?"
"That's what Cade and I decided on. A life away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We're all alone here, and it's something to be extremely happy about, right?"
"Huh, right." Sasha replied awkwardly.
"But the bedroom is really cool. And plus, why did you leave on vacation without including the Daisy Damsels? We talked about this vacation thing - first." Sasha protested.
"That's right, but my boyfriend and I have decided to go on one first, then we can all go."
"But you're not gonna include Cade."
"Of course. It's just the Daisy Damsels."
"By the way, did Wendy call you?" Sasha changed the topic.
"Nope. If she did, I wouldn't pick up. I won't have her know our location."
"Why you so scared? Wendy is not at all interested in your man. Because.... She's getting married!!!" Sasha declared with a shriek.
"What?" Isla's eyes widened in shock.
"Yeah! She's getting married to her boyfriend."
"Is it still Drake?"
"Yeah, it's Drake. It's WENDY AND DRAKE? For the 16th."
"Close it. I'm cooked."
"You're cooked with Cade? Tell me it's a fucking joke. Ever since this Cade guy came into your life, you've had nothing for the Daisy Damsels whatsoever. All you do is ignore us with the excuse that you're with him! And not only Cade, but all the other men. During Lindsay and Julie's wedding, you weren't available because of your schedule - your schedule to go on a Hawaiian trip with Jake Hollidae. And where did that land you? He ended the marriage with you. If you're not careful, if you don't think straight and you keep getting scared that Cade will slip off your hands, you'll lose him forever and then you'll realize that we are the set of people that'll never let you go, Isla."
"Is....is that what you'll say to me..." Isla's voice was quivering, tears slowly rolling down her cheeks.
"How could you?! I don't know what made me call you because you've been this stupid, saucy friend who talks carelessly and sharply at everyone!"
"I'm not being careless - I'm only saying the truth, Isla Sinclair."
"Buzz off!" Isla hung up and threw her phone on the couch.
"What if your phone missed?" Isla folded her arms in annoyance, trying to control the bucket of tears that could pour down her cheeks.
"What's up, baby?" He held her close to himself.
"It's Sasha! She told me Wendy was getting married, and I told her I couldn't make it. All she did was yell."
"She said I was a bad friend and I ignore my best friends for my men; and at the end I get dumped in every single trial. She thinks you'll dump me."
"Who the hell does she think she is to say that? What makes her think I'll ever let go of Isla Sinclair?"
"She isn't to blame for anything. I am. I was the one who fucked things up. I shouldn't have come here with you." Cade's eyes widened.
"What?"
"Yeah. Cade, you know I've got a lot of brand deals. My phone is buzzing with calls. People need me. What am I gonna say if we return to the city? I went on a vacation? I fear my career will end."
"You think too much, Isla. This is the only way I can protect you. For now, I guess. Talia is after you."
"But what about Dora? I ... I think this whole dating stuff still fascinates you a little."
"What do you mean?"
"It's like... It's like... The shock of us actually being together has taken the better of you. You're so possessive of me, you don't even worry about your daughter. Remember, Talia is her mom. Talia deserves to see her. Talia deserves to talk to her. Talia doesn't deserve to have her, but she deserves every opportunity to see her daughter."
"Isla. I can't afford you scolding or lecturing me like a child." She chuckled.
"If you want us to bring Dora here. I will."
"No... I want you to care for Dora more." He held her hand.
"Okay.... anything you want. I will take care of Dora properly now. And I'll allow her to meet her mom."
"Thank you." Isla smiled.
"Let me get you some of the Beignets I made."
"Can't wait to taste it!"
"Ahhh!!! Stop that!" Cade continuously threw water balloons at Isla but she failed to dodge.
While Isla laughed loudly, he grabbed a balloon and threw it. A thick black liquid splashed on her face and her dress.
"Cade, you're doomed!" She ran towards him but he ran, immediately he realized she was also holding a balloon with the liquid. He ran into the garden and Isla threw the balloon straight and it hit his neck.
"C'mon Isla."
"Now you know how disgusting it feels." She laughed and bit her lower lip to control the laughter.
"Your phone's buzzing. Didn't I ask you to switch it off?" Cade complained.
"I...I wanted to play a game, that's all."
"We could have played on PlayStation."
"I'm not a fan of PlayStation. I play those games when I'm in a bad mood." Isla replied frankly.
"Oh."
"Who called?"
"It was Wendy."
"Same old story, she's getting married." Isla rolled her eyes.
"I can watch that on Instagram reels. I blame her for getting married to a non-celebrity. And Rhea is gonna attend it. I'm not in for any drama."
"But she's your friend."
"I really don't care. Sasha has yelled at me so hard, without giving a fuck about what the private time I said I needed with my boyfriend. Wendy has her place, and I have mine. Plus, I can't be friends with someone who works with Rhea Sinclair." Isla said.
"You really are a angry bird." He pinched her cheeks and she smiled a little.
