Rajveer and Nisha were having a serious conversation when Maya walked in.
Maya "What happened? Why are you looking so troubled?"
Rajveer "Things are getting out of our hands now. We need to stop all this. Our clan members are angry with me. They are disappointed that we haven't done anything to stop the war, so far."
Maya "I can stop everything. I need to find out who killed Vivek. When Rehaan will understand it wasn't you and somebody else, he will stop the war."
Nisha "I'm sorry Maya, but even if he finds out the truth, he wouldn't."
Maya "No Mom, he will."
Nisha "Your Dad didn't kill Vivek. I killed him."
Rajveer and Maya both were shocked to hear this. Maya couldn't believe what she heard. Rajveer went near Nisha. Nisha looked nervous.
Maya "Mom, you killed him? Why? And why did Kamini feel it was Dad?"
Nisha "Vivek told me that he wanted to end the enmity forever and extend his hand for friendship. I got suspicious of him. One day he asked me to come to a lonely place with Rajveer to meet him. I didn't tell Rajveer anything and went to meet him alone. He got angry as I went there alone because he had planned to kill Rajveer. He attacked me and in my defense, I killed him. It wasn't intentional. I didn't want that. But I got nervous, and went home, leaving his body there. I don't know, why those wolves felt Rajveer killed him."
Rajveer "That can't be the truth. Why didn't you tell me anything? That time Rehaan was seven years old. Maya was also around seven. For these many years, you have hidden this truth. Why are you telling now?"
Nisha "Those people want to kill you. I can't hide the truth anymore. Tell them, Maya, that I was the one who killed Vivek, the werewolf king."
Maya "I can't do that Mom. If I tell them, they will try to kill you. The enmity wouldn't end like this."
Rajveer "Then don't try to end it. Stay out of this. I'll handle the situation."
Maya left from there. Rajveer looked at Nisha who looked away.
Kamini was looking at a photograph. It was Vivek's photo. Kamini remembered the day, a werewolf came and informed her that, Vivek was lying dead in a place near the jungle, with a silver knife stuck on his back. Kamini remembered Vivek had told him that, he was going to meet the vampire king and try to end the rivalry forever. Tears formed in her eyes. She kept looking at the photograph and said, "Why Vivek? Why did you want peace? See what happened. You lost your life." Rehaan was watching her from a distance. He felt ashamed of himself, as he couldn't take his father's revenge yet.
Maya was not in the house. Nisha was sitting in the living room. Rajveer came near her and sat beside her. He looked at her, who was looking somewhere else.
Rajveer "Are you trying to avoid me?"
Nisha "Of course not."
Rajveer "Look at me Nisha. Look straight into my eyes, and tell me, why did you lie to Maya?"
Nisha "I didn't lie to Maya. I had hidden this truth because I was scared."
Rajveer again asked her to look at him. She looked at him, still nervous.
Rajveer "Maya is not at home. Nobody is here apart from us. Now tell me, why did you lie?"
Nisha "I was protecting our daughter. She is so innocent. She thinks this age-old rivalry will end in a day. I don't know who killed that Vivek. I don't even care. But Maya would have tried and found out who the killer was. She would tell Rehaan about the actual killer, and he would believe her. They would reunite. But the enmity still wouldn't end. Our people would turn against us. The wolves too wouldn't accept their relationship. It would mean a bigger and deadlier war. First, they would kill Rehaan, and then they would try to kill Maya. Even if they couldn't kill her, they would imprison her. What would we do then? We can't fight everyone alone."
Rajveer "You are right. But what if Maya tells Rehaan, that it was his father who tried to trap us?"
Nisha "I don't think Maya would tell him so. She knows he'll never believe that. It will only add fuel to the fire. She wouldn't make that mistake."
Rajveer "Well, now we'll have to ask our people, to fight back. If the wolves initiate the war, the vampires would retaliate."
Rehaan was in his room. He was remembering the moments he had spent with Maya. Suddenly he remembered that Rajveer was his Dad's killer. Rehaan said to himself, "Focus Rehaan, what are you doing? She never loved you. She told you that she can't love anyone. It was a lie. It was just a part of her plan. She was cheating. Her father cheated your Dad. I have to kill him. I can't let him go."
Rehaan kept convincing himself that, he should only focus on his revenge and forget Maya. Maya too was trying to make herself understand that the wolves are cheaters, and she should support her people and follow her parents' instructions.
