It was him—the abnormal Kamikakushi described in the records. The one believed to be the leader of them all, and also, the main body of the ancient god. But for some reason, the sight of this 'leader' gave me a feeling of unrest, as if I had seen him somewhere before. He didn't have a face, just as the records described, but his body resembled that of a teenage boy. I could have sworn I had seen the exact clothes it was wearing somewhere before.
As I stood there, I started thinking to myself, "What are the chances that the one unknown, the one abnormality in the records, is what I encounter moments after learning the weakness of the Kamikakushi?" There was no way of escape—I was in between two separate bodies of an ancient god, and I wasn't sure if any of them were on my side. One was the unknown figure that took control of the body targeting my mom and led me to this very basement. Looking at it, it would seem like it brought me here to discover the secrets of the Kamikakushi, but in the situation I was currently in, it was also possible it brought me here to meet its master.
I still wasn't sure of anything, but I was sure of one thing: I was definitely going to die in this 'round'. Never in my life did I think I'd be in a situation like this.
As I was busy thinking of how I could avoid death—or at least figure out more about this 'leader'—the 'image' behind me broke the silence, saying, "Why are you here? How did you find me?"
The 'leader' responded, "You should have considered the fact that I'd try to find the 'records' in this new round. Seeing that you failed before, I knew you would try to get this boy to learn about our weakness a second time. All I had to do was wait."
With what the 'leader' said, and what I had learned from the records, I came to an easy but chilling conclusion: these events happening before me now had already taken place before. The one problem was that I didn't remember any of it—most likely due to the fact that every time I 'die' to the Kamikakushi, I lose a certain part of myself. So I had most likely lost my memories of the events that transpired in the former round.
But this revelation only brought about more questions, like: "Why is a Kamikakushi—a being whose sole purpose is to remove people from this world—trying to make me learn their weakness?" Normally, one would assume it was on my side, but at this point, I couldn't be too sure.
Suddenly, the 'leader' rushed forward toward me with a clenched fist, and the unknown Kamikakushi stepped in and blocked the strike from hitting me. I fell to the ground, raised my head, and looked forward at the otherworldly scene before me—two inhuman beings engaged in a fierce battle. In mere seconds, they were able to exchange multiple blows.
At the time, many thoughts crossed my mind, but I was at least certain of one thing now: the Kamikakushi that led me to this basement was, for a fact, not my enemy. As I came to this realization, I started looking around for a way to leave this room below my house—this 'basement'.
As I stood up, I saw a black figure fly past me. I looked back and it was the 'image'—the one that had been fighting just a moment ago. To think there were beings capable of settling a fight of that magnitude in mere seconds...
I turned around and saw the 'leader' standing right in front of me. As I looked on in fear, I felt a sudden pain in my chest. I looked down at my body and saw that a hand had pierced right through me. I coughed up blood and fell to the ground. The image I had thought wasn't my enemy just moments ago had stabbed me in the back.
"Was it all an act?" I said to myself as I felt my consciousness fading. But before I 'died', the 'image' said to me, "We'll meet again." And just before I died, I looked up at the 'leader' once again, and again, I felt like I had seen him somewhere before.
I died...
7th of September 2022. The time was 10:57 PM.
I 'woke up' in my bed, and for some reason, I didn't have that feeling of having forgotten something, like I did in my past 'returns'. I stood up from my bed and, in front of me, was him—the Kamikakushi that had led me to the book titled "Kamikakushi" Which contained the secrets of the strange beings targeting me and my mother, The same one who had protected me from the 'leader'... and the same one who killed me.
