Three Brothers, One Sacrifice
***Arin's POV***
The Shadow King angrily explained, "The curse that binds me to the shadows can only be broken by a selfless act of pure love. I will be released from the shadow realm if that boy breaks his mate bond in order to save you."
I said, perplexed, "But I thought you wanted to stay connected to the shadows."
"I do now," declared the Shadow King. "However, I didn't always. Rowan's real father, the man I once was, is still imprisoned inside of me. He might regain power if the curse is lifted."
I saw Rowan with fresh insight.
"You're not merely attempting to keep me alive. You're also attempting to save your father."
Rowan's blue eyes were filled with tears as he looked over his shoulder at me.
"He wasn't always evil," Rowan remarked. "He was that way because of the shadows. Perhaps he will remember how to love if I can set him free."
"It's too risky!" Kael objected. "You don't know what's going to happen!"
