Chapter 6 - LUNCH TIME

Bang led them to an area more towards the stream and revealed to them a small picnic table with a basket on top of it. They all decided to sit down with Miku and Hianta on one side and Bang on the other.

Bang looked at the two girls and opened the basket, "So what kind of sandwich would you girls like? I have at least one of many different kinds here."

Miku just looked at him weirdly, "Why do you have so many sandwiches if it's just you here?"

"That's because as a martial artist, we are required to eat more food so we can sustain energy. If one were to try to do extensive exercise on an empty stomach, not only will you not gain much muscle mass, you will also not have enough energy to continue training." Bang said as a matter of fact.

Hinata nodded as if she understood and agreed with what he said, she herself could be considered a big eater and she has gone many days where she has not eaten enough food and suffered from a lack of energy. She had fainted in the middle of training a couple times because she hadn't had enough to eat, which in turn caused her father, who doesn't have much of any medical knowledge to declare her untalented and not worth the effort to train her.

Miku, knowing that Hinata tends to eat a lot warned Bang, just as a precaution, "Mister Bang, I just want to inform you beforehand that Hinata here tends to eat a large amount, she has the stomach of 5 Akimichi" Which in turn caused Hinata to blush in embarrassment at being called out like this. She then pouted at Miku and pinched her waist trying to get her to be quiet.

"I have no idea what an Akimichi is, however I should have more than enough food in my basket. Despite how it looks, it contains a lot more food than what you might think." Bang chuckled as he stroked his mustache with one hand.

"Then in that case I will take a peanut butter sandwich." Miku said, hoping that he actually had one in his basket.

"Alright here you go, one peanut butter sandwich for the little lady." Bang said as he rummaged through the basket for a moment. "And what is it that you would like to eat my disciple?"

Hinata easily accepted that Bang would be her teacher as this is what Miku brought her here for, she also wanted to learn from Bang as she could intuitively feel that he was a lot stronger than most people that she has met before, including the aged Third Hokage.

She looked down at her hands as they fumbled with each other, slowly gaining courage so that she could answer him on her own, knowing that he was taking small opportunities like these to help her get more comfortable with him. After a moment of silence she spoke in a voice barely above a whisper, "I- I would like to start with a roast-beef sandwich if t-that is alright."

Bang chuckled loudly as he said with an obvious smile, "Well of course you can, little lady, one roast-beef sandwich coming right up." After which he again searched in the basket and quickly pulled out a wrapped roast-beef sandwich and handed it to Hinata who managed to take it without backing away from him in fear.

After that they sat and began to eat their sandwiches in peace with the sounds of nature all around them, the rustling of tree leaves, the rushing of the stream, and the sounds of forest creatures carried upon the wind.

Miku, being the excitable person that she is, could no longer sit still in silence and started to question Bang, "So mister Bang, what do you plan to teach Hinata first? Is it some super cool destructive technique where you punch out and everything in your path gets vaporized? Ooh ooh, maybe a series of footwork that allows you to step on the air as if it were solid ground, or maybe you will teach her to sit cross legged for hundreds of years, take a lot of drugs, and experience 'enlightenment to get stronger, breaking through the ranks!"

At this point it wasn't even just Bang that looked at her weirdly, even Hinata herself, temporarily forgetting her shyness looked at her like she had a few screws loose and didn't know whether she should move away or be concerned for the other person living in her mind and if she was infectious or not.

"Cough cough, ahem, Little Miku, I don't even know what to say to that." Bang just stated in pure confusion as he tried to regather himself and answer her seriously, "As for what you asked, I do know someone who can destroy everything in their path with a single punch, however it is not something that I can do, I can teach Hinata footwork similar to what you said, however it is not as simple as just walking on air. And for your final question, I am a martial artist, not some form of cultivator."

"Miku, I think you have been reading way too many stories in the library, even I know that what you just asked was way out of the blue. I don't even know how to properly react to that." Hinata said in bewilderment nt stuttering even once.

"Well that's normally how it is in the stories. The protagonist meets an old man, the man seeing the protagonist's potential takes them as a disciple, offers them a welcome gift (gestures her hands over the sandwiches), then they teach the protagonist some super duper secret technique that allows them to fight above their level. Then the old man manages to help the protagonist break through the ranks using some medicine or drugs that he procured from somewhere, then the protagonist realizes at some point that the old mentor figure needs help at some point in the future. Then the protagonist, in order to repay their master, typically goes through some great challenge or a difficult task that their master couldn't do themselve." Miku said in one breath practically bouncing, surprising Hinata and Bang with her apparent lack of the need to breathe.

"I don't want to even say it, but somehow what you just said makes sense in a way that I can't even comprehend. I am just confused as to what to even say at this moment." Bang said, feeling as he aged a couple more years in just the few moments since meeting this little gremlin named Miku.

"I have to agree with Master Bang on this one. Even though I also can not deny what you have said makes sense." Hinata nodded slightly in confusion.

Hearing what they said Miku puffed her chest out in pride, the words 'PRAISE ME MORE' practically written all over her body. This caused Hianata and Bang to look each other in the eyes and see that they both felt exasperated by Miku's antics, each feeling a deep sympathy for the other.

Seeing that Hinata and Bang were communicating with their eyes and Hinata was not backing down because of sheer confusion, she let a smirk fall upon her face before it disappeared just as fast as it appeared. 'All according to Keikaku' she thought while pushing up her imaginary glasses.

After what just happened they sat there in silence for a few more minutes with Bang handing Hinata another sandwich whenever she finished one. Before they even realized it, Hinata happened to have eaten 34 sandwiches and still didn't seem anywhere near full. This in itself caused Bang's eyes to light up as he thought, 'She must have immense potential in that small body of hers to be able to eat, and digest that much food so quickly.'

Seeing the way Bang just looked at Hinata, Miku nodded to herself checking a list off in her mind, 'The old man recognizing the protagonist's potential: CHECK! Next is the super secret technique.'

Hinata, was now no longer feeling that anxious around Bang and was able to at least look him in the eye and communicate properly, even if she still spoke in a very soft tone that was hard to hear if you weren't paying attention. Luckily the other two people there had their own ways to hear what Hinata said, Bang himself has heightened senses way beyond the norm, making him able to pick up even the slightest sounds, and Miku, well she is Miku, that's all that needs to be said.

*Slurp* The sound came out of nowhere, causing Hinata and Bang to both look for its source, only to see Miku holding a carton of Choccy Milk with a straw coming out of the top.  *Slurp*

"Where did you even get that? I didn't bring any Chocolate milk with me and I noticed you didn't have any with you when you arrived." Bang asked with Hinata nodding her head along like a chicken pecking rice.

"That's right, I also didn't see you bring any with us when we came here." Hinata said, knowing that MIku was able to conjure drinks in their mindscape, but at this point she realized that they were currently no longer in the mindscape. What they were experiencing was way too real to be just a memory stored in a book.

She wasn't considered to be one of the most intelligent students at the academy, even though she had to hide that fact, without being able to gather simple clues in a place like this, her waking in her mindscape not a valid reference because first of all she was panicked, and her being in her mindscape felt natural and familiar, even if she didn't recognize it at the time.

Hearing their questions Miku looked at the two of them as if they asked the silliest question that she had ever heard, though it was most definitely up there on the list, right alongside: Is a hot dog a sandwich? So she, in her infinite magnanimity decided to bestow an answer upon these lowly mortals with their limited understanding, "It's simple, this great one has mastered the Dao of Choccy Milk, and has walked far on the path of the Aeon of Choccy milk, the supreme one, and has become their emanator. So it has been declared that 'When thou art in need of Choccy Milk, Thou shalt have the Choccy Milk.' and thus whenever I am in need, it shall answer my summons."

"So... What you are saying is, since you wanted chocolate milk, you have chocolate milk?" Bang asked slowly. Despite having witnessed many people with superpowers, and having seen his fair share of weird monster abilities, he felt that this one could be considered quite unique.

"If that is how a mortal such as yourself uses their limited cognizance to interpret such a thing, then that is how you may understand it. The greatness of Choccy Milk has no proper answer, as they say; one begets two, two begets three, and three begets choccy milk. One has to be enlightened to be able to even scrape the surface of the great dao."

Hinata then turned to Bang, and then said in complete seriousness, even speaking in a normal tone,

"I think her Chocolate Milk was spiked."
