Chapter 7 - Gentle Fist Demonstration

"Well, ignoring that situation, and not feeling the need at the moment to get her medical attention, I think it is about time that we start training Hinata." Bang said as he slowly stood up ready to walk back to the space where they were before in the middle of the field.

Miku also decided at that moment to stand up and stretch her muscles, enjoying the slight strain that she put on them. She then began to hop in excitement, infecting Hinata's mood as well, making a smile appear on her face. Hinata then stood up as well, finally feeling a little bit full after eating a lot of sandwiches.

After a short walk, they made their way back to the clearing as Miku decided to move to the side and make way for Hinata and Bang, knowing that they were going to start training and wanting to give them space for it. So she decided to sit in a rocking chair that hadn't been there the moment before. She was sitting underneath a lavender parasol with another glass of chocolate milk in her hands as she slowly drank it, while watching the two in the field.

At this point Hinata and Bang decided to stop thinking about things that pertain to Miku, knowing that it would just give them a headache instead. So Bang redirected his attention to Hinata as he asked, "So I assume you have learned at least some basic form of martial arts at some point, with how the muscles on your arms and legs are arranged, along with the calluses of a fighter on your hands."

Hinata nodded, going back to speaking softly, but in a noticeably louder tone than before. "I-I learned my family's Taijutsu, it's called the gentle fist style. It consists of using our Byakugan to see our opponents' chakra pathways, then as we are steadied in a lowered stance, we send chakra to our fingertips, releasing it from our Tenketsu into our opponents bodies, rendering them and their chakra immobile."

"Hmm, I think I have the gist of it, however I would like for you to demonstrate it for me so that I can get accurate details." Bang held his chin with one hand as he was thinking about applications and weaknesses of the Gentle Fist style.

Hinata nodded then got into position with her center of gravity lowered and left leg forward, her left hand extended forward with her palm facing out and her right hand more towards her side with her palm facing down.

Bang looked at her stance and hummed to himself, already noticing some details that could improve her stance by adjusting her center of gravity more forwards and pulling her left hand back by an inch or two. He motioned for her to attack a wooden dummy then he moved from the side.

Then while still in her original stance she moved forwards towards the dummy and attacked with the basic gentle fist art, attacking the positions that would have been where a person's Tenketsu would have been.

'1 palm, 2 palms, 4 palms, 8 palms, 16 palms, 32 palms.' Hinata ran through the motions, however when she got to 32 palms her stance started to fall apart as her body over extended for some hits and under extended for a few others, she stopped attacking and felt frustration within herself building for not being able to succeed, even knowing the fact that Miku said that this version of gentle fist was not suitable for her and was aligned to the wrong attribute.

Bang stood there, his focus on the dummy, recalling the way that Hinata unconsciously adjusted her muscles as she moved, the positions that she struck and the order in which she struck them.

Bang then closed his eyes, moving into a stance that mirrored Hinata's own but with subtle differences that were hard to see at first sight. While keeping his eyes closed he ran the motion through his mind and after he did so a few times he began to move. With his eyes still closed he moved upon the puppet, in a very fast speed and with a fluidity that Hinata lacked, Bang struck with overwhelming speed even adding a few steps that Hinata didn't.

'1 palm 2 palms, 4 palms, 8 palms, 16 palms, 32 palms, 64 palms, 128 palms, 256 palms, 512 palms.' At that point Bang no longer continued, not because he didn't wish to, but simply because the puppet hand turned into dust from the continued impact that happened all at once.

Hinata was shocked as she saw what happened, at one point Bang took up the gentle fist style, and then the next he struck and in an instant, the puppet seemed to have never existed as it was no longer there, all that was left of it was the pole that it was standing on. Hinata felt herself growing excited, wanting to learn that technique as it was superior to the gentle fist that she had learned from her father.

"Hmm, so it was a mix of Tai Chi, Wing Chun, and a few moves from other martial arts. It could probably be refined more, however it was a bit lacking because of my lack of the lass' Byakugan, though I made up for some of the difference with my own experience and my heightened senses." Bang mused as he ran more simulations of the style within his mind, already noticing a few more ways that he could have improved his strike, one example being adjusting the speed of each strike before they landed, some being slower, other's faster.

After coming to a close regarding his contemplation of the Gentle Fist style, he turned and noticed that Hinata was looking at him with a gleam of excitement in her eyes, overshadowing any other emotion that she might have been feeling. He then decided that he was going to show her the martial art he planned on teaching her, "Hinata, I am going to show you the 'Fist of Flowing water, Crushed Rock. It mainly focuses on reflection and deflection able to increase the strength of the attack that was aimed at you."

Immediately after that Bang got into a stance, his hands softly glowing with a blue energy that Hinata thought was chakra before denying it as she didn't feel any sense of chakra coming from it. Miku, seeing that Bang was going to do a demonstration, immediately set up a machine that automatically launches any projectile that is placed into it. She made it a while back by setting up a rotation seal, storage seal, and a transmission seal.

It works by taking items that are stored inside the storage seal, loading them into the chamber, and then activating the rotation seal, the objects gain momentum spinning and then released from the barrel by using the transmission seal to eject it forwards at an immense speed.

Then Miku quickly started firing small rocks towards Bang who she saw was prepared, as soon as the rocks got within range of him Bang started striking the side of the rocks with a palm strike as he kept re-adjusting his stance for the incoming projectiles, managing to hit every single rock and even send most of them to knock other rocks out of the sky. No matter how Miku adjusted the launcher and how many she set up, Bang managed to strike every single rock that was heading in his direction.

At this time Miku started adjusting the launches so that they would release curving shots leaving no visible blind spots. Bang took this opportunity to show his style in motion, weaving all throughout the clearing, hitting every single stone, causing them to deflect off of each other until the machines stopped and no more attacks were heading his way.

"That could be considered a very rudimentary version of the style, it's best used against other opponents and their attacks. This style is also able to reflect energy based attacks back to the person that sent them at twice the damage by gathering inertia through rotation while sending it back their way. The only limit to the attack you can defend against is the limit of your own strength. So if you are strong you can even deflect a mountain being thrown at you." Bang bragged to Hinata while stroking his mustache, noticing the eager look in Hinata's eyes, a look he once saw in both himself and one of his most talented disciples, Garou.

Miku then decided that she was not having enough screen time so she said to Bang, "Hey old man, so if you plan on teaching this to Hinata, how far do you expect her to go? Do you want her to challenge all fighters, slowly making her way throughout the martial world seeking stronger challengers, growing stronger and stronger, facing many challenging opponents while slowly honing her talents until she reaches the point where she begins to fight opponents like Jin Mori and his reversal Taekwondo." While finishing her statement Miku felt a flash of brilliance flash through her mind, 'I need to get Hinata to learn Renewal Taekwondo from Jin Mori at some point in the future.'

"The only thing I expect from Hinata after my training is that she upholds her determination to protect those close to her. Just like she told me she wanted to when we first talked." Bang said with a wise look in his eyes as he looked into the distance, "Because if you lose those you get stronger for, then you no longer have a reason to improve and push beyond your limits."

"Did you just try to say something deep and inspiring but ended up coming up blank so you said something cheesy like that?" Miku questioned bluntly causing Bang to cough in embarrassment for being called out as his face flushed.
