Midnight was fast approaching, and Y/N's heart was a mess of conflicting emotions. Part of her wanted to run toward him, throw herself into his arms and beg him to come back. Another part of her was afraid—afraid of what she might find at the docks. Afraid that maybe this time, she wouldn't be able to save him.
She stood at the edge of the water, the dark waves crashing against the rocks below. The moonlight cast an eerie glow across the scene, making everything feel surreal.
And then, just as she had imagined, she saw him.
Jungkook.
He was standing there, his back to her, the wind whipping through his hair. His posture was tense, but when he turned to face her, his eyes were filled with a sorrow she couldn't comprehend.
"Y/N," he whispered her name, and it sent a shiver down her spine. "I didn't want you to see this. I didn't want you to know how deep I'm in."
Y/N's breath hitched. "You're not alone, Jungkook. You never were."
But Jungkook's eyes were full of regret. "I thought I could protect you by keeping you away from this. But I was wrong. I was always wrong."
The storm was closing in. But this time, Y/N wasn't running.
She stepped forward, determined to face whatever darkness lay ahead.
