Chapter 15 - CRIMSON EYE ASTRAL ART

A few days later, Nash's consciousness slowly woke up in the runic space.

"Hmm?"

In a daze, Nash looked around, assessing his situation.

"I slept in the runic space?" Nash thought in shock.

He had assumed that in the runic space, he would be tireless, but it seemed it was only a placebo effect.

It had been almost three months since he transmigrated to this world.

During those three months, Nash had been constantly working, either in real life or in the runic space.

Although his body could rest while his consciousness was in the runic space, his mind couldn't.

Nash only thought he had a tireless mind, but it seemed it was because the rate at which consciousness gets tired was incomparable to the physical body.

Thinking of the beating he had just gone through, Nash thought his mind deserved a good rest.

"The fight earlier was just a trigger telling me to rest," Nash sighed, thinking of his craziness over the past three months.

It seemed that even if he transmigrated, he was still a workaholic who could forget everyone once he had a plan.

Wanting to look at his injured body, Nash opened the [Control Module System] and the [Sensing Module System].

With his body opening its eyes, Nash began to inspect every piece of his flesh and bones.

"The arm is still busted!" Nash gasped in shock, seeing his left hand with its shattered bone.

Fortunately, he had taken a low-grade healing potion, so the hand didn't get rotten.

Besides, his right arm was a little stiff but had no significant issues.

As for the torn ligaments, stretching his body revealed no major problems.

"Only the left arm..." Nash sighed in relief, seeing he didn't miss anything.

"How do I rearrange these bone fragments..." Nash thought, looking at his busted left hand.

No matter how high the quality of the healing potion he took, if his bones were not connected, it wouldn't help.

"Pity I can't go to a hospital."

Remembering Elias, Nash was sure he was a man of status.

If others knew Nash was in such a condition around the days Elias went missing, Nash would be on the wanted list the next day.

Knowing his luck, this might really happen.

"I can only do the surgery myself," Nash thought.

He only had to connect his broken bones; as for infection, damaged nerves, and other complications, a healing potion would take care of them.

Suddenly, he thought of a problem: he had no money left to buy any healing potion.

His account had less than 30k arls remaining.

"It seems it's time for me to return to my old profession."

Shaking off his thoughts, he controlled his body to get the medicine kit.

With a knife in hand, he sterilized the area and went straight to surgery.

The process was not complicated; cutting into his arm, he picked out bone fragments and pieced them together like a puzzle.

There were no intramedullary rods, external fixators, bone grafts, kirschner wires, or even anesthesia.

Nash recklessly forced his way through, controlling his right hand to butcher his left arm.

---

A few hours later.

"Huh~ Done."

Wrapping his arm with medical tape, Nash's consciousness wiped non-existent sweat from his brow.

"This is much harder than I thought."

If not for the [Control Module System] allowing him to move each individual muscle and bone, emergency treatment like this would have been impossible.

There was also the [Sensing Module System].

Updating its capabilities from mere sight to both sight and touch, he could precisely locate every lodge bone and twisted vein in his body.

Looking at his left arm, the injury shouldn't degrade as long as he takes diluted low-grade healing potion regularly.

This type of healing potion only costs 10,000 arls, which he still had a few in stock.

Temporarily solving the problem, Nash's thoughts returned to Elias.

"Just who are you... Elias Fletcher?" Nash muttered, reading Elias' identification card.

Nash hadn't heard of the surname Fletcher on Earth or even in Arlean.

Either the name was fake or too illustrious for him to know.

"What about the chip?"

Besides the identity cards, there was also a chip he had looted from Elias.

Thinking of the phone he had gotten from Cortell, Nash didn't have much expectation.

The technology used by a spy or fugitive usually has encryption.

Although Nash was confident he could crack it, it was too time-consuming for one person to do.

Unless he had a complete set of hardware and software, cracking the phone wasn't worth the trouble.

Opening his computer, he cut off the internet and inserted the chip into the reader.

Scanning a bunch of miscellaneous files, he saw something that made his eyes light up.

"Crimson Eye Astral Art!"

The file contained a few petabytes of information about the Crimson Eye Astral Art.

"Is this the one Elias used?"

Trying to click the file, he was met with an error.

Debugging the problem, he saw he didn't have the appropriate device and decompression program to view the file.

"It seemed I really need a virtual pod."

In passing knowledge, books come first; the second would be videos.

However, to pass on more advanced knowledge, such as a transcendent technique, a book, and a video would not be enough.

It had to be an actual experience, with visual representation and personal involvement.

This is where the virtual pod came in.

A device unique to the interstellar era, a virtual pod that could connect each civilization within the universe.

"Unfortunately, I can't get it."

A virtual pod couldn't be bought or sold; one could only exchange it through the Arlean contribution system.

If Nash hadn't seen rumors of it on the dark web, he wouldn't even know of its existence.

Disappointed that he couldn't learn the Crimson Eye Astral Art, Nash sighed.

Taking out the chip, he sealed it in a special Faraday box.

This Faraday box was made of special materials that could even bypass a quantum scan from a starship.

Nash bought it specially for situations like this.

A small box the size of a coin cost him over 10k arls.

Putting his heart at ease, he thought of cleaning the inconspicuous traces left in the factory.

Although there was no news yet about Elias's death, Nash had a feeling it would bring trouble he couldn't stand against.

Controlling his body, he surveyed the place for any traces left.

From footsteps, fingerprints, hair follicles, Nash traced every way Elias walked, removing any traces he could find.
