Chapter 30 - Returning To The Base

After a few days of trekking through the forests and wastelands of Eastdam State, the group finally returned to the Atral State.

"We're safe!"

Looking at the borderline dividing Atral and Eastdam States, the group couldn't help but sigh in relief.

In the past few days, they had lived like savages, trekking through treacherous and desolate lands.

Encountering various dangers from humans, Arleans, and even beasts, they felt exhausted and spent.

Fortunately, their captain, Camilla, was able to repel everything in their path.

Dragging the unconscious Nash to the nearest Crimson Gang base, they could finally get supplies.

"The Crimson Phoenix Squad reporting, escorting Lloyd Albrecht to Atral City," Camilla reported.

Hearing their identity, the person in charge of the base quickly reported to the higher-ups as he settled Camilla and the others to rest.

In the temporary shelter, Camilla and the others took a nice bath, relaxing their tense hearts.

Just when they thought they would be given supplies and transportation to continue their journey to the Atral City, Camilla was called in alone.

"Watch Nash and be prepared to escape anytime..." Camilla warned.

She didn't trust anyone in the Crimson Gang besides her squadmates.

If not for the emergency, she wouldn't stay here a single second longer.

After reaching the core of the base, a projection of a man appeared before Camilla.

"Greetings, Crimson Lord!" Camilla hurriedly bowed, showing her respect to the man before her.

"Camilla, I didn't expect you to grow so quickly. Furthermore, you completed such a difficult mission..." The Crimson Lord, Abner, said sincerely.

"It is thanks to the organization's support that I could reach this far!" Camilla said, against her conscience.

The Crimson Lord, Abner, is the leader of the Crimson Gang, a Void Commander from the Crimson Family, one of the top families in Nova Sector.

Abner's strength matched even the puppet leader of the Earth Alliance Government. How could Camilla dare to rebel?

"Don't praise us too much; it's your talent that made you a Void Warrior..."

"It's still because of the help of the organization that I could make use of my talent." Camilla didn't relent and continued to be serious.

As if having had enough of the small talk, Abner finally got to the main point.

"I heard you managed to kill a Void Tamer. Can you tell me the details?" Abner asked.

A Void Tamer was a rare profession even in the Nova Sector.

Managing to cultivate a Void Tamer among Earthlings was much rarer than cultivating a Void Commander.

The Fendi Gang had lost someone so valuable that even he, the leader of the Crimson Gang, was alerted.

Hearing the question, Camilla's heart began to race.

Controlling her expression, she started to recount the scene, attributing everything to luck that she managed to defeat the Void Tamer.

Camilla didn't mention a hint of Nash, portraying everyone besides her as baggage during the mission.

She didn't want Nash to be targeted; he was only for the Crimson Phoenix Squad and nothing else.

After telling more lies, Abner finally let Camilla go, congratulating her on completing her first mission.

Heaving a sigh of relief, Camilla returned to their temporary shelter after borrowing a flying car from the Crimson base.

"Let's go, it's time to return home..." Camilla said softly.

---

A day later, after returning to the Atral City, they felt the pressure in their hearts disappear.

"We're home..."

"Don't celebrate too early. Take Nash to the intensive care unit and wait for the high-grade potion to be delivered,"

Even for Camila, a high-grade healing potion was out of reach.

Fortunately, they had just completed a profitable mission and were able to exchange for a high-grade healing potion within the Crimson Gang.

Taking Nash to the intensive care unit, Emily began to get busy.

Hector and Amber also helped, leaving only Camilla and Lloyd in the room.

"Uh, Captain?" Lloyd spoke nervously, breaking the silence.

"Hmph! According to the contract, you owe us 30 Void Crystals. But because of the danger you caused, you promised to triple it, making it a total of 90 Void Crystals," Camilla said straightforwardly.

Lloyd had already paid the Crimson Gang in advance for the escort task he commissioned.

The final payment was for them, which would be the income of the Crimson Phoenix Squad, along with their contribution points in the Crimson Gang.

"Of course, of course! I already called the Nova Bank to withdraw the money; please wait," Lloyd hurriedly said.

"That'll do," Camilla nodded in satisfaction.

Nova Bank is an interstellar bank directly under the Nova Sector; it would be safe even if Lloyd stored millions of Void Crystals.

Unfortunately, one needed at least a thousand Void Crystals to open an account.

Camilla couldn't imagine such a large amount of Void Crystals.

Remembering how she nearly begged an unknown man called Noir for a few Void Crystals, she couldn't help but grit her teeth, looking at the rich boy before her.

"Just obediently stay here, don't leave before paying us!" Camilla warned as she walked toward the intensive care unit to see Nash.

---

Meanwhile, after putting Nash in the intensive care unit to soak in a low-grade medical solution, the high-grade healing potion Camilla ordered arrived.

Paying the Spirit Bee Express worker the delivery fee, Emily quickly took the healing potion and infused it into the medical pod Nash was in.

Inside the runic space, while Nash was tinkering with the [Training Module System], trying to integrate the basic Void Breathing Method, he felt some movement in his body.

"Did we arrive at the base?"

Controlling the [Sensing Module System], he saw his clothed body submerged in a special solution as it rapidly healed like a miracle.

"Is this a high-grade healing potion?" Nash thought in amazement.

Soon after, absorbing every bit of the potion, Nash's body returned to its pristine condition.

As the liquid solution collapsed and the medical pod opened, Nash saw Camilla looking intently at him.

"Ready to fight?" Camilla muttered like a devil.
