Chapter 39 - 39

"Dim Vision"

Taking advantage of the Assassin's carelessness, Jia Lin lightly waved his hand. The Curse he had prepared long ago covered Luo Ye's head. Instantly, Luo Ye felt the world spin around him, his vision blurring.

The four Skulls seized the opportunity to surround Luo Ye again. However, this wasn't enough. Four Skulls weren't sufficient to defeat Luo Ye. Didn't Jia Lin know this?

Jia Lin smiled faintly, waving his hand again. An "Amplify Damage" Spell enveloped Luo Ye. After using this Spell, Jia Lin's Mana was depleted, but it was no longer needed, was it?

Under the Amplify Damage Curse, Luo Ye needed only one round of attacks from those four Skulls to be defeated.

Watching his Skulls raise their greatswords high, Jia Lin smiled slightly. "I didn't expect it, Luo Ye. I've leveled up again. Not only has my Mana increased significantly, but I've also learned Dim Vision."

Just as Jia Lin thought the outcome was decided, an unexpected turn occurred.

Luo Ye, who was about to be defeated by the Skulls' greatswords, suddenly threw out several spinning blades forward. The fiercely rotating blades not only shattered the Skulls in front of him but also pierced through, striking directly at Jia Lin and the Skull positioned before him.

Blade Sentinel: A series of blades will patrol back and forth between the caster and the target.

Then, with one Skull shattered, a gap immediately appeared in the encirclement. Although Luo Ye's vision had decreased, he didn't need his eyes now. He just needed to roll in the direction he cast Blade Sentinel to dodge the other three greatswords.

The continuous sudden changes left the spectators astonished. By the time they recovered, the Assassin Luo Ye, whose Dim Vision effect had disappeared, had already rushed in front of Jia Lin like lightning. With a few swift slashes, he cut Jia Lin's Health in half while Jia Lin was still in a state of shock.

"Hehe, sorry, Jia Lin. I just happened to level up too and learned Blade Sentinel," Luo Ye chuckled at the defeated Jia Lin.

"Damn it..." Jia Lin, recovering his senses and seeing that he had lost, stomped his feet in anger.

"If I hadn't been startled, how could I have been injured by your Blade Sentinel?"

This was true. If Jia Lin had been calm enough just now, he could have organized the three Skulls around him to resist for a while, and then waited for the three Skulls behind to return. Luo Ye, still under the Amplify Damage state, would definitely have had little chance of winning.

"Hmph, there are no 'ifs' in this world. If you really want to talk like that, if I had known you learned Dim Vision, would I have fallen for your trick? Would I have been hit squarely by your Amplify Damage?"

This was also true. Level 1 Dim Vision and Amplify Damage had very small ranges. If prepared, even in a small space, an Assassin could very likely dodge them with their agile movements.

"Hmph." The two, staring each other down like fighting roosters, ran off the stage. It was believed that their next duel, now that they knew each other's strengths and weaknesses, would be another extremely — long and boring match...

"Oh, right..."

After watching this thrilling, subtle, and arguably cunning and insidious ultimate-style match, I suddenly thought of a very important matter, extremely important. I pulled on Doug and Geoff beside me.

"Doug, let's go somewhere."

"Go where..."

Doug, who hadn't yet recovered from the exciting match, asked curiously when he saw how suddenly active I was.

Naturally, it was...

The Ranged Training Ground!

Although Bow and Arrow are the Amazon's specialty Weapon, they are also very important for other Adventurers. Any qualified Adventurer must put a lot of effort into Bow and Arrow, because sometimes, the long-range Attack of Bow and Arrow can play a crucial role. It is a necessary Weapon for Adventurers.

But, can I shoot Arrows?

God granted me the power of a Druid, but did not grant me the Skill that a qualified Adventurer should have. Therefore, my current understanding of Bow and Arrow is — zero.

"Oh, so you want to come practice shooting Arrows!" Doug said, realizing, when he saw me lead them to the Ranged Training Ground in the east district.

"Wahahaha, why didn't you say so earlier? Back in the day, the number one Barbarian Archer in Rogue Encampment was me, Doug... 's younger brother, Geoff!"

Doug patted his chest vigorously, and only when he got to the last few words did he symbolically patted Geoff, as if all the credit and glory belonged to him.

"Hehe..." Geoff smiled honestly, his face rarely blushing.

See, see? How honest and cute Geoff is. Why is it that as brothers, your skin is so thick?

"But, there are a lot of people," Doug changed the subject, looking at the crowded Training Ground.

"Let's keep walking and see if there's any space."

The three of us walked around the Training Ground.

"Look, there's a large empty area!" I excitedly pointed to an empty spot. There was enough space for 10 people to practice, but only one Amazon was there.

"Hmm, where?" Doug turned his head, froze for a moment, and his face suddenly turned pale.

"Wait..."

Unfortunately, I had already run over.

There were many Bows and Arrows available for us to practice with on the field. Of course, these were all Common Items, only for practice use. I casually picked up a Bow and Arrow, pretended to pull the bowstring, then nodded with an Expert-like demeanor, narrowed my eyes, and said profoundly, "Hmm, passable, it's alright."

There were also many Targets to choose from opposite. Because there are no Vital Points in Diablo, you just need to hit them. So these Targets didn't have bullseyes drawn or Vital Point locations marked on the Heart or head. However, these Targets came in many different types, from large Brutes to small Hardened Skin Rats. There were also some Magic Targets that would move randomly, which made it more realistic, because when you are truly using Bow and Arrow against enemies, do you think the enemies will stand foolishly still for you to shoot?

I chose a Brute as my Target, set it up 200 meters away, thought about it, moved it to 150 meters, hesitated for a while longer, and finally put it at 100 meters...

"Alright, done..."

I clapped my hands, stood at the shooting point with the Bow, and suddenly felt a palpable Gaze fall upon me. It was the female Amazon next to me. My Gaze sharpened. It was the first time I had seen such a strong, almost tangible Presence.

Thinking this, my face immediately turned serious, and I instantly entered Protagonist Mode.

The biting wind whipped at my Cloak, making it flap loudly. I held the Bow in my left hand, an Arrow in my right, chest out, abdomen tucked in, head held high, gazing intently into the distance. My Gaze was deep and profound. The hands lightly holding the Bow and Arrow were so elegant, so naturally harmonious, as if they were a part of my body.

I let out a long sigh towards the sky, as if lonely and empty, or perhaps finding no worthy opponent, more solitary than Dugu Qiubai himself. After a long pause, I slowly placed the Arrow on the bowstring. My profound Gaze followed the raising of the Bow and the drawing of the string, slowly lowering, finally resting on my Target.

An Expert! This is the demeanor of an Expert! I roared in my heart. In my excitement, without even aiming carefully, my right hand holding the drawn string relaxed...

With a "whoosh," the Arrow in my hand disappeared.

"Pfft... Haha..."

A clear and bright laugh came from beside me.

From the moment I let go, I felt something was wrong. It seemed I hadn't aimed carefully.

It's over, it's all over. My Expert image is completely ruined, and someone saw the whole thing. I looked towards the source of the sound in frustration.

It was an Amazon, as I had already said, but I hadn't expected it to be such a beautiful Amazon.

Like most women on the Training Ground, she wore only a tight-fitting garment for convenience. Her long legs, her slender waist that could be grasped with one hand, and her full chest were tightly bound by the tight-fitting clothes, revealing the astonishing vitality and elasticity within. Any more would be fat, any less would be thin. Her S-shaped curves were graceful and enchanting, the best and most perfect figure I had ever seen.

Her face was captivating. Most human women here had Western features, with broad, high foreheads. Among the people I had met, besides the Rogue women, only Lin Ya's face was adorably cute and lovable, especially when she smiled sweetly, round where it should be round, pointed where it should be pointed.

And the Amazon before me, unlike most human women, instead had Eastern features. No, perhaps here it should be said she resembled the features of Rogue women, because their appearance was somewhat similar to the legendary Elven race. Their delicate, fair Oval Faces were pleasant to look at. They were symbols of beauty, representatives of nobility.

The Amazon before me was like this, beautiful like an Elf, but with a voluptuous figure that Elves didn't possess. Of course, this isn't to say Elves have bad figures; they tend to be petite and delicate, and far from as tall as the Amazon before me.

But she was undoubtedly an Amazon. I don't mean her Class was Amazon, but rather the race she belonged to. Her head full of flowing, smooth golden hair was like a waterfall, gently tied back with a simple small Rope, hanging down to her waist. I think her enemies, if their eyes were sensitive, would be quite unhappy, because her gold-like hair was too dazzlingly bright, almost having the same effect as Krillin's blinding bald head in Dragon Ball. And the untamed temperament between her brows gave her face, which was almost as elegant as an Elf's, two completely different Auras - wildness and purity.

If I were a Lolicon, I would like Lin Ya more, but if I were an Older Sister Fan, then I would lean towards her.

But am I? I am such a pure, noble, and excellent person, of course I am quite broad-minded. How could I favor anyone? I am not such an easily swayed person.

However, it seems I have just made a great fool of myself in front of her...
