"Hey Duke we found our first mission" Alen said to Duke in excited tones
It was after 4 days after Alen's awakening ceremony he has now stabilized both of his element. Now he can use some power of elements but his Cosmo power is not big enough to use high amount of power
"Which mission and how so suddenly" Duke asked
"As I was coming to mountain top for training, I went to mayor's house to deliver him some cake he orederd from my Dad's bakery. When I went to his house he was looking for a mage to drive away the one horned rabits who are attacking farmers in west of the city. Well pay was good and horn of rabit is pretty expensive in market so I can sell them to make some money." Alen explained
"Fine, let's go but you have to buy a saddle too from money you will be getting" Duke said
"Yeah, fine, I agree, now let's go" said Alen in laughing tone
"Ok mount me, It will take time to go west side of city by walking" said Duke
"Yeah, I also just bought a swiz knife from my pocket money it should be enough to kill them. I hope" said Alen
"You are a mage, stupid human Alen why you need a fcking pointy object " said Duke in annoying.
It took 1 hour for Alen to reach the western outskirts of city, it was first time of Alen coming in farming area. There were huge fields and lots a farmers both men and women were working hard. So now it's time for Alen and Duke to shine
Alen went to a farmer to collect some information
Alen said to farmer " I am a mage and I am here after accepting your request to drive away the one horned rabits."
"Listen kid, It's not time to play one horned Rabbit may look like a rabbit but their horns are sharper than a knife and the jump attack with enough velocity that the horn will pierce you and will leave a hole of 3cm diameter." Farmer said in annoying tone
Without wasting time Alen showed his issues order, he don't want to make it cliche like he reads in novels.
Now the tone of farmer was polite "sorry Mr mage I was just not able to understand why a young mage like you will take a mission. Anyways rabits mostly attack between 5pm to 6pm and they destroy crops"
"No problem, I just wanna have some experience that's why I came here and age has nothing to do with one's capabilities. Just be sure I will complete these mission." Said Alen
"You are wise and righteous, Mr mage. Thankyou " said farmer in buttering tone.
In this world killing a human even by a mage is punishable act but most of the mages are backed by so powerful organisation that you can't do anything.
Alen went to Duke and explained him what the farmer had told him
Duke said "So you can't use fire element as you will not burn your own people's food but your thunder element is not precise enough to hunt rabbits one by one but it's not powerful enough to finish them in a wide range attack."
Alen "I was already prepared about it I have master plan ready just wait and watch"
Alen went to farmer again "Listen at exact 4 o'clock open all irrigation sources and let fields below filled with water, hope it will not damage crops"
"No it will not, we will do as you say wise mage sir" and after saying this farmer went to tell other farmers about mage's order
Alen went on Duke's back and took a nap
As expected rabbits attacked exactly at five in evening the started entering in field one by one, in 10 minutes each of them was in field .
"Stupid human do something, or you will fail, stupid" said Duke to Alen
Alen after streching for a minute or two said to Duke "Go run far away near that wooden tree"
As Alen said Duke went near the tree
Alen went in middle of field and starting concentrating his thunder Cosmo energy but as he expected a rabbit attacked Alen but Alen was ready he had already studied attack patern of one horned Rabbit in fewtube.
Rabbit jumped towards Alen with its horn pointing towards Alen's heart but Alen parried the attack and as soon as tha back of one horned beast was exposed he struck the swiz knife inside it's head killing it on spot.
After concentrating all the this Thunder Cosmo energy Alen luanched a powerful thunder electricity. Even though it's range was not wide enough but because of water every one horned Rabbit got a high voltage shock.
As soon as they saw some of them died to this current every one horned rabbit started running towards forests
As farmers saw one horned beast retracting first time they became full of confidence and started using stones to attack retreating injured rabbits.
After that Alen whistled again, signalling Duke to come near him as he will be chasing them.
Duke came running towards Alen and Alen also quickly climbed on back of Duke.
Even though one horned rabbits were they were nothing compared to Duke.
Now they were not also near field so Alen started using fire element to hunt them.
With help of Duke first he chases the rabbit and when rabbit is in range he attacks with fire ball to defeat them
After two hours of hunt his work was almost done he was able to kill seven of them and was able to highly injured around 10 and everyone was slightly injured from rocks of farmer and electricity of Alen.
As one may thought best way to stay safe from them is current wire fencing but it is not economically feasible. In this planet making dam is highly expensive as a dam makes reservoir for both water beasts and land beast which in future destroys dam. There is barely enough land for humans to sustain to windmills are not heavily used, solar is only usable source of energy.
Now it's time for Alen to harvest the beast and make some quick money, Alen started by skinning all beasts one by one, then he sliced with meat near it separating horn and beasts head now he stored everything seperately. He took out polythenes from his bag, he used one for all the skin, one fire horns and one for meat.
Single one horned rabbit weighs around five kilograms, so now he has thirty five kilograms of meats will will last him for a month and beast meat contain some Cosmo energy so they don't decompose.
When he returned towards main farmland, farmers have already retreated to their home because everyone knew one horned beast are lower level threat in forest so at night anything can happen.
"Time for camping Duke" as Alen said this Duke he went to have some wood so he can cook.
After that Alen roasted rabbit meat and he started eating. After eating he sat down to do Cosmo breathing, as he went to his sould world he saw his control to elements was increasing. He thought that was because of he is getting more and more familiar with. Now as he went to his soul world energy was not going rampant.
Early morning Alen went to see farmers and told them he will be with them today too just to make sure their work is done
Farmers were rejoiced, usually a basic mage takes a week to do tasty of this level and in process the also destroyed crops. But Alen was like their savoir who have saved them not just from one horned rabbit but also their fields were good.
An old farmer said to Alen "Great Mr mage, if you do not mind you can rest in my place."
"That will be good, thankyou" said Alen
As Alen followed old man to his home, he saw the old man's home was near fields and it was a well mentained village house
As he opened gate a girl one year younger than Alen greeted them with smile.
"Grandpa you came early today, and who is this guy with you" said the girl
"Molly, he is the mage that saved us from one horned rabbit's hoarde and also he did that without destroying our fields he is truly great" said old man to his grand daughter.
"Come in, Mr mage" Molly invited Alen
As Alen was sitting on a chair, Molly came to him "Mr mage can you teach me magic please."
Alen ridiculed by question replied "Before me teaching you magic, you have to awaken a element, you can only awaken one at sixteen".
"Is that so" Molly said in sad tone "atleast you can tell about magic so when I awaken an element I can catch up to you.
Alen smiled and explained basics of magic, soul worlds and planets, and everything that female fewtuber told Alen. He was not specific but he gave just general knowledge so it doesn't become complicated for the girl.
"So if you are the powerful can you beat two horned rabbit, one that controls these rabbits" asked Molly
"Two horned rabbit! Tell me more" replied Alen.
"Some villagers have seen there is a two horned rabbit which protects these one horned rabbits so if you go to forest to hunt them, he will surely attack you" added Molly
"So we got the main guy, I am going somewhere Molly tell your grandpa I will meet him before night.
As saying this Alen went to place where Duke was resting from yesterday.
"Duke let's go it's time for more fun" said Alen to Duke
