*I LIVE IN ISEKKAI* ARC 15 : GLUTTONY ARC
Chapter 71: "Into Gluttony"
As Michi, Appolo, Henu, Joyce, and Tanush ventured down the path, they felt an eerie presence surrounding them. The air was thick with an unsettling energy that made their skin crawl. They ignored the feeling and pressed on, determined to reach their goal.
The trees seemed to close in around them, casting long, ominous shadows on the ground. The wind rustled through the leaves, creating an unnerving whisper that seemed to follow them.
As they approached the end of the road, they were met with a sight that made their blood run cold. Countless humans, though they looked like nearly skeletons, were mumbling and walking through the path. Their eyes were empty, their skin gray and decaying.
Michi whispered to Appolo and Henu, "Take positions. We don't know what's going on here." He turned to Joyce and Tanush, "Hide, now. We can't let you get hurt."
Suddenly, a creepy sound of wind filled the air, like a vacuum trying to suck something in. Michi and the others were in shock as they watched the humans get rolled and sucked into a mouth of a human. The mouth was enormous, with razor-sharp teeth and a tongue that seemed to be pulling everything in.
Michi and Appolo noticed the presence of the gluttony stone in front of them. It was pulsing with an otherworldly energy, and they could feel its power calling to them.
The man in front of them, Kurush, sucked in the last of the humans and said, "Very low quality they have. I need new things." He looked at Michi and the others, his eyes gleaming with excitement. "Welcome to Dalgodia city, I am Kurush, the bearer of the gluttony stone."
Michi felt tension in the air, like the very fabric of reality was about to tear apart. Kurush's words were laced with malice, and his presence seemed to be growing stronger by the second.
Kurush continued, "Thanks to you, Michi, I got the taste of some interesting things. And thanks to your dead friend, I got the chance to be entertained. Alas, I can't say thank you to her anymore, cause she is dead, hahahahahaha."
Michi's anger boiled over, and he drew his sword. Appolo and Henu followed suit, ready for battle. But Kurush just laughed, his belly shaking with mirth.
"Wait, let my belly be full before battle," Kurush said, his eyes glinting with cruelty. And with that, he turned and plucked Joyce and Tanush's heads off, eating them in one swift motion.
Appolo, Henu, and Michi were in shock and anger. Kurush's actions were beyond anything they had ever seen.
"I don't like the taste of old timers," Kurush said, his voice dripping with disdain.
Michi's forehead stone turned red, and he charged at Kurush with his sword. The air was electric with tension, and the ground seemed to shake with the promise of an epic battle.
The stage was set for a clash of titans, a fight that would decide the fate of Dalgodia city and the gluttony stone. Michi and Kurush were about to engage in a battle that would push them to their limits, a battle that would only end with one of them standing.
Chapter 72: "Gluttonous Battle Begins"
Michi charged at Kurush with his glowing red forehead stone and red sword, ready to unleash his fury. The air was electric with tension as the two enemies clashed in a deadly fight. The ground shook beneath their feet, and the skies grew dark with foreboding.
Kurush, opened his enormous mouth and razor-sharp teeth, tried to suck Michi in, but Michi dodged and weaved, avoiding the attacks with ease. Michi struck back with his sword, but Kurush's body was like a sponge, absorbing the blows without any damage. Kurush retaliated with a wave of his hand, sending Michi flying across the battlefield.
Michi landed hard on the ground, but he refused to give up. He sprang to his feet, his forehead stone glowing brighter, and his sword slicing through the air with renewed ferocity. Kurush laughed, his voice like thunder, and tried to suck Michi in again.
The battle raged on, with Kurush trying to suck Michi in at every opportunity. Michi's forehead stone glowed brighter, and his sword sliced through the air, but Kurush's powers were formidable. Kurush's mouth seemed to be everywhere, trying to suck Michi in from all angles.
As the fight continued, Michi began to tire. Kurush's constant attacks were taking their toll, and Michi's wounds were starting to show. But he refused to give up, fueled by his anger and determination. Michi's sword sliced through Kurush's arms, but they just reformed, like a hydra's heads.
Kurush, sensing victory, increased his attacks, trying to suck Michi in with all his might. Michi stumbled back, his sword trembling with fatigue. Kurush's mouth was inches from Michi's face, ready to deliver the final blow.
But just as Kurush thought he had won, Michi's forehead stone flared up, and he unleashed a powerful blast of energy. The blast sent Kurush flying back, giving Michi a brief respite.
The battle was far from over, and both fighters knew it. They were evenly matched, and only time would tell who would emerge victorious. Michi stood tall, his chest heaving with exhaustion, his sword still trembling with fatigue.
As they faced off, panting and wounded, Michi knew that this was only the beginning. The real fight was yet to come, and he steeled himself for the battles ahead.
Chapter 73: "Gluttonous Showdown"
Michi's forehead stone pulsed with anger, turning a deep black as he summoned his healing powers to mend his wounds. His body glowed with a soft light as his injuries disappeared, replaced by a fierce determination. The air around him seemed to charged with electricity, as if the very fabric of reality was waiting for the battle to begin.
With a fierce cry, Michi raised his black sword to Kurush, and the next battle began. The ground shook beneath their feet, and the skies grew dark with foreboding. The wind howled through the battlefield, whipping up dust and debris.
Kurush retaliated with a wave of his hand, sending Michi flying across the battlefield. Michi landed hard on the ground, but he sprang to his feet, his sword slicing through the air with renewed ferocity. The blade seemed to sing with a deadly music, cutting through the air with ease.
The battle raged on, with Kurush trying to suck Michi in at every opportunity. Michi dodged and weaved, avoiding the attacks with ease, but Kurush's powers were formidable. The ground was scorched and blackened, the earth torn apart by the sheer force of their blows.
Finally, Kurush managed to suck Michi's left hand into his mouth. He tried to cut it off from the inside, but Michi was ready. With a fierce cry, Michi summoned his daggers in his left hand, inside Kurush's mouth. The daggers sliced through Kurush's mouth, causing him to scream in agony.
Michi took advantage of the distraction to strike back with his sword, slicing through Kurush's arms and chest. The blade bit deep, causing Kurush to stumble back in pain.
But Kurush was far from defeated. With a malevolent grin, he summoned his last ounce of strength and tried to suck Michi in once more. Michi was ready, his sword flashing in the dim light.
With a fierce cry, Michi struck back with his sword, slicing through Kurush's mouth and into his brain. The blade seemed to glow with a deadly light, cutting through Kurush's defenses with ease.
Kurush's body went limp, his powers fading away. Michi stood tall, his victory won, but at great cost. The battlefield was silent, the only sound the heavy breathing of the two fighters.
Chapter 74: "Gluttonous Breakdown"
Michi's anger finally subsided, thanks to the timely intervention of Appolo and Henu. They approached him calmly, their faces etched with concern. Michi's forehead stone slowly returned to its normal color, and he nodded in gratitude.
"Thanks, guys," Michi said, his voice still shaking with adrenaline. "I don't know what came over me."
Appolo placed a hand on Michi's shoulder. "You've been through a lot, Michi. It's understandable."
Henu nodded in agreement. "We're just glad you're okay."
Together, the trio approached Kurush, who lay writhing in agony. Michi reached out and snatched the gluttony stone from Kurush's chest. Kurush's eyes widened in horror as he screamed, "Don't take it off! Give it back to me! I need it, or they will kill me!"
Michi, Appolo, and Henu didn't utter a single word. They simply turned their backs on Kurush and walked away, leaving him to his fate. As they departed, the pillars of Dalgodia city began to crumble, and the curses that had plagued the city for so long finally lifted.
The city began to transform before their eyes, returning to its former glory. The skies cleared, and the air grew fresh once more. The buildings, once twisted and corrupted, now stood tall and proud.
Meanwhile, Kurush lay helpless, his body broken and his powers fading. He sensed someone approaching and trembled with fear.
"Please don't kill me," Kurush begged, his voice shaking. "Give me another chance. I will prove myself. I will take the stone back from them, so please don't kill me!"
A dark figure loomed over him, its presence radiating an aura of malevolence. The same voice that had spoken when Nian and Chisa were killed echoed through the air.
"You have lost your chance, Kurush, a long time ago," the figure said, its voice dripping with contempt. "You thought you could fool us by hiding here and playing with times."
Kurush protested, "No, I was protecting the stones! I was trying to keep them safe!"
The figure retorted, "Your stone is glowing, so I have to retrieve it, or I may try to wait for them to get the wrath stone for me too."
Kurush pleaded, "Please don't leave me here. I'll do anything. Just don't leave me."
The figure replied, "We don't need you anymore. Go and give company to your dead friends."
With that, the figure brutally crushed Kurush's head with his shoe, saying, "So the time has come for me to finally meet them…"
