Chapter 1 - 20 Seconds left

The gym full of life and excitement, everyone in town was watching their favorite basketball team "eagles'" play against "hawks", they were on the edge of their seats staring at the clock only 20 seconds left, their home team was 2 points behind, this was the game where the winner would win the state championship trophy, their hopes were high,it was the first time, this small town was about to make history.

Max had the ball the crowd erupted into cheering, they shouted "THROW THROW THROW", Max looked at the clock, he started sweating then the crowd voice erupted higher, Max started breathing rapidly he looked at the court everything started floating, the ground shaked, the hoop started floating away, he felt his shoes got heavier, Max sweated with every second passed on the clock the ground shaked,Max closed his eyes and threw the ball, he opened his eyes and saw everything back to normal the, ball soared high heading for the hoop seconds passed, everyone held their breath, the crowd went to complete silence everyone eyes focused on the ball, Max looked as the ball headed straight towards the hoop he felt everything was in slow motion, it looked like it was going in but just when it hit the rim, it bounced back and the clock blared, the game ended, Max looked at the crowd, he could see their disappointment, he hit the ground, knees slamming against the court , his vision blurred as tears broke free, spilling fast and relentless, each drop fell on the ground created a tiny creature wobbly, soft, jelly-like it had 2 small eyes, it looked the size of his palm, the creature lunged on Max back and sticked to it like glue, Max kept his eyes closed he just wanted to burry his head, he wanted to vanish in that moment, he felt like something sticked to his back then he heard a voice coming from behind " you failed i will always be here, you will never succeed",

Max opened his eyes slowly feeling a pat on his shoulder, he turned around slowly it was his father Victor smiling at him his coach "you did your best, its okay son you will do it next time" and with that a single smile appeared on Max face, then he closed his eyes, his body sunk into the court.
