A car came out of nowhere, killing Matt.
As his body lay lying on the ground, his soul leaves.

Just like that, he wakes up in a bed.
'(The heck happened??, I thought I got hit by a car?)'. Thought Matt.
Just like that, he looks around seeing he's not in the hospital.
'(Where am I??, it looks like I'm in some hotel room or something)'. Thought Matt.
As he gets up out of bed, he walks to a mirror…
Only to see he has a different face.
'You got to be kidding me…, I'm, Buggy??'. Asked Matt/Buggy in shock.
'(Looks like I was reincarnated after all, shame it's as Buggy)'. Thought Buggy.
Just like that, the door opens to reveal a young red haired man with food.
'Buggy?…, what you doing out of bed??'. Asked the red haired man seeming confused.
'("Red hair" Shanks…, it's "red hair" shanks of the red haired pirates…, I better act it cool)'. Thought Buggy.
'Oh, um. I felt like stretching my legs to help my body'. Said Buggy.
'…, uh huh…'. Says Shanks.
'(Of course he'd not believe it, I'm such an idiot)'. Thought Buggy.
'How ya feeling then?'. Asked Shanks coming closer to check.
'I feel fine'. Says Buggy with a innocent smile.
Shanks starts feeling Buggy's forehead.
'No heat, nor fever…, you seem good so far'. Said Shanks.
'Great, now that's over with, I'll be heading out for some air'. Says Buggy before walking away.
Only to get grabbed by the shoulder.
'Hold it, I don't know how your feeling better, but your not going anywhere'. Said Shanks in a serious tone.
'(Crap, what do I do??)'. Thought Buggy panicking.
'Not with an empty stomach that is'. Says Shanks showing a friendly smile.
'Oh, I see, ok, thanks Shanks'. Says Buggy feeling relieved.
As they were eating breakfast, Buggy regained old Buggy's memories…, at least, the memories of how he got sick and was forced to stay behind.
'(Seems to be the year Gol D Roger finally found one piece and became king of the pirates. Which means, next year he'll die, creating the great pirate era…, I need to be careful, given that I don't know how Buggy managed to survive till the story showed him)'. Thought Buggy.
After breakfast, Shanks was doing the dishes while Buggy finally headed out to clear his mind.
As he explored the island he found a forest to try out his new found abilities.
As he entered the forest, he unleashed the power of the chop chop fruit.
As he got used to having it, he thought to himself.
'I have a long way to go. Seeing that I'm still me, I'll just live my new life my way'. Said Buggy to himself.
As time passed, Buggy decided to try out sword fighting. He still chose to whiled knives from time to time.
As he practiced using two sword style, he hears from Shanks that the Roger Pirates have finally returned.

As the two watch as the Oro Jackson sails to port, Buggy was nervous.
As the ship docked the crew onboard welcomed the boys by placing a ladder to climb onboard.
After that they got welcome back hugs from the crew.
After that, the captain says to celebrate somewhere else to not be disturbed by the marines and world government.
Just like that they set sail away.
