Chapter 1 - [Prologue: The Archangel’s Stand]

In a blazing battlefield, a bearded man with a scar over one eye lay on the ground.

He slowly rose to his feet, covered in dust, blood dripping from his fingertips. Gritting his teeth, he muttered through the pain:

"How long...? How long. How long... How long... How longgg...? How long do I have to do this?"

Anger radiated from his voice. With a burst of rage, he lunged toward a shadowy figure in the distance.

Under the reddened sky, a long, sharp sword materialized out of thin air in his hand. With all his strength, he slashed at the dark entity. But the strike was effortlessly nullified by the figure's overwhelming might—it scattered into the sky like stardust.

The entity raised its right hand and placed it against the man's chest. In an instant, black spikes pierced through him.

Stunned, blood pouring from his mouth, the man looked down at his chest. His skin was punctured—his heart crushed. Clenching his fist, he tried to punch the entity, but it was stopped mid-swing.

The being then slammed him into the ground.

With a cruel smirk, the entity spoke:

"You can't stop me. I am the one who will judge you. I am the end of all things. I am Death in human form."

But the man stood again—his injuries already healed, though his fury remained.

He spat blood, then glared forward.

"Huh... The end of what? Hey, you bastard! Who gave you the right to do anything? I don't have time to mess around listening to your bullshit!"

(Yelling)

As the man shouted, the dark fog around the entity dissolved.

Before him stood a stunning woman with long black hair and reddish-brown eyes. Her figure was slim, graceful—beautiful beyond human measure. She looked genuinely surprised that he could still stand.

"You're no ordinary fighter, are you?" she said. "Well... not that it matters. Now then—farewell.

Agarantus Velvos."

A massive projectile of intertwined light and darkness hurtled toward him.

But with one swift motion, he slashed it to oblivion. In a blink, rainbow-colored wings burst from his back. Drawing another blade infused with a radiant, multicolored aura, he launched himself at the woman—

Noon.

A classroom.

Rows of desks. Scribbles on the chalkboard. The quiet hum of a math lecture.

Near the back, in the last row beside the window, a young boy lay sleeping at his desk. His head rested on his arms—right beside the most beautiful girl in the school.

In his dreams, he saw a desolate battlefield, war, death…

And then—

"Hey! Wake up!" barked the teacher.

The boy jerked awake.

Rubbing his eyes, he muttered, "Huh...? Where am I...? Who... Oh..."

(Thinking to himself)

"It was all... just a dream?"
