Chapter 10 - Two Souls Contend for Blood: The Awakening of the Empress

"There are some souls... torn in two, half to live, the other half to wait for the one person to come... and awaken them."

Ancient Ice Layer – Outer Heart Realm

After awakening from his ancestral dream, Lin Mo felt the blood in his body constantly shaking. A strange cold aura led him north – to a place that was once the final battlefield of the Primordial First One, now completely sealed within ancient ice.

He arrived.

Before him was an ancient ice tomb, with eight characters carved on its door:

"One with Primordial blood – enter and die,

But do not enter... and also die."

Inside the ancient tomb, there were no corpses, no grievances – only a frozen pond of ashen lotuses, in the center of which sat a white-clad woman, eyes closed in meditation, as if she had slept for eons.

From the moment Lin Mo stepped in, his blood vessels felt like they were burning, his heart began to constrict:

"You have arrived...

I... have waited for you for a very long time..."

A voice echoed from deep within his mind.

When her eyes opened, they were not gentle, but bone-chillingly cold.

Her pupils... once a warm purple, were now a cold, ashen gray.

"Who are you?

Why is your aura... like that traitor's?"

Lin Mo was stunned. In a fleeting moment, he saw a phantom from another life – also him, but cold, slaughtering an entire realm just to save her from heavenly punishment.

"I don't remember you. But my soul... trembles when I see you."

"What... were we to each other?"

The woman had not fully awakened. Within her were two conflicting intentions:

One half was a woman deeply in love with Lin Mo in some past life.

The other half was an Empress whom he himself had cut down to complete his Dao.

These two wills collided fiercely.

Lin Mo stepped forward, touching her icy heart – transmitting a fragment of his gray-ash soul.

He wasn't sure she would remember. But he chose to bet.

"If I once betrayed you, I will let you kill me.

If I once defied heaven for you... wake up – and tell me, why?"

The ice cracked. She collapsed into his arms. Not embracing – just looking up:

"I remember...

You were the only one who ever called me... Human."

Her tears fell.

"You are still alive...

So perhaps... the Dao has not withered."

At the end, Lin Mo turned and left the ancient tomb, leaving her to sleep by the ashen lotus platform.

From afar, the Ancient Divine Palace began to move.

"One of Primordial Chaos has awakened.

Prepare for the Life-Snatching Ceremony."
