Chapter 23 - Life Decree: Primordial Inheritance

"There are types of life... that do not come from mother or father.

There are Daos... born from death."

The silver-ash halo still floated at the peak of the Grand Burial Spirit Altar, flickering with Lin Mo's every breath.

A character "Life" carved from light, not brilliant, not dazzling, but bearing a strange ash-light – cold yet alive.

Lin Mo stood silent.

He felt no joy.

Instead... a stillness as before a great calamity.

Because he understood – this character "Life" did not simply mean "rebirth."

But "Life Decree" – the decision to live on despite having died, the decision to step forward despite having no Dao.

A faint aura slowly coiled up from the soles of his feet, unlike true essence, nor spiritual energy.

It carried a completely foreign essence, like something more primordial than heaven and earth, a form of primal life never constrained by heavenly Dao.

That was...

Primordial Qi.

At that very moment, a ray of light shot out from the character "Life," piercing into Lin Mo's glabella!

His divine soul was pulled from his body, falling directly into a chaotic void realm.

In that world, a colossal pillar seemed to pierce through the nine heavens and ten earths, ancient symbols rotating around each layer of it.

At the center, was a figure... gender unclear, their entire body seemingly woven from ash light.

When Lin Mo appeared, that figure opened its eyes.

"Primordial Chaos... finally, someone knocks on the door again."

That voice... carried no oppressive might, no power of the heavenly Dao, but each word spoken seemed to touch Lin Mo's soul, making him tremble.

"You have passed through Oblivion. Overcome Heart Mark.

Now, listen to the Primordial Inheritance."

The pillar rotated slowly.

A stream of ancient text, as if carved with ash blood, appeared before his eyes.

[Primordial Life Decree – Chapter One: Lifeless Yet Living]

"If the Heavenly Dao grants no fate, then create one's own Dao fate.

If no one inherits, then use blood to rewrite the inheritance.

If there is no foundation, then make the void give birth to one."

As soon as the words appeared, they immediately dissolved into nothingness, transforming into strands of ash qi, burrowing into Lin Mo's divine soul.

He was in agony as if his marrow was being flayed.

Every fragment of memory in his brain was burned by the ash qi, cleansing it of all old cultivation system concepts – including the notions of "spirit root," "spiritual power," "spell incantations"...

BOOM—!!!

His body outside trembled violently, his blood vessels roared, his limbs convulsed as if being torn apart.

In an instant, his blood turned from red to silver-ash, a layer of silent light rose behind him – formless, shapeless, without Dharma, without Dao...

But... it suppressed the entire Grand Burial Spirit Altar.

A final sentence echoed in his mind.

"When you understand 'Life is not merely living,' you will enter the second layer."

"From now on... you are the bearer of Void Fate."

Lin Mo opened his eyes.

The entire stone altar collapsed beneath his feet.

No more gravestones. No more memories. No more white-clad woman.

Only one person – he, stood amidst the ashes... bearing a Dao path that had never had a name.

"From now on, I will not cultivate spirit roots.

Will not practice magical power.

Will not follow any Heavenly Dao ever recorded."

"I will only walk on my own Dao path – the Dao of one who has died, yet still stands tall amidst the ashes."
