As the enormous amount of dark red energy surged around Alex, the air around him trembled. Bara scowled in irritation.
"HUH? Where did that power come from? Its insane! More so , how can a kid be able to wield this much?!" he muttered, visibly annoyed.
Kazuki, watching intently, narrowed his eyes.
"This isn't like before... The way the energy's flowing—it's different," he noted. "Alex! Are you okay?" Kazuki asked
With the dark red energy violently swirling around him, Alex responded calmly but slightly annoyed. He was unsure of himself and what he was feeling at the moment.
"I think I'm okay… but I don't know what's going on."
Frustrated at the sight of such overwhelming power, Bara snarled and fired a barrage of energy beams at Alex.
"Get out of the way!" Kazuki shouted.
In a flash, Alex vanished and reappeared behind Bara, ready to strike. Bara spun around instantly, unleashing more beams. Alex darted around with blinding speed, effortlessly dodging them. At this point, he was moving almost a hundred times the speed of sound.
"How did I get this strong in just seconds…? More over, my speed is almost too hard to control!" Alex questioned himself mid-dodge, his movements sharper than ever and his flexibility was insane.
From the side, Kazuki stood up, observing.
"It's like the energy is under control now… unlike the last two time in the dead forest and the fight we had against those criminals a month ago. That kind of power can't be wielded without insane training."
As Bara kept up his barrage, Kazuki joined the fray, launching his Spiritual Shuriken technique toward him.
"Tch! GET LOST KID!" Bara exclaimed in anger, preparing to dodge—
But the shurikens exploded mid-air, engulfing him in what seems familiar to purple flames.
Alex blitzed in, delivering a furious flurry of punches at a speed that blurred his form. Just as he wound up the final blow—
A beam erupted from Bara's chest, blasting Alex through several pillars.
"Alex!" Kazuki shouted, panicked.
Bara turned on Kazuki and struck him with rapid-fire punches. Kazuki couldn't keep up. A final punch hurled him into the wall with brutal force. "Damn it! His speed and strength have increased so much. Was he toying with us before now?!" Kazuki asked himself as he got slammed into the already crashing wall.
"I'm done with this!" Bara roared with anger while charging up a devastating amount of energy that was crackling all over the hall. He started to create a huge ball of energy with his robotic arm "I'm being bested.... BY KIDS? HAVE I FALLEN SO LOW?!"
As the energy prepared to fire, Alex pushed through the rubble and dashed with incredible speed, intercepting just in time. With a sharp kick, he knocked Bara's arm aside, then unleashed a barrage of punches so fast and fierce that Bara began bleeding. "This kid's not just gotten stronger, he's gotten faster! C-ranks like myself can move at speeds hundreds of times that of sound. The highest we can move at is at lightning speed. With this strange red and black aura, he's not just as strong as a C-rank, he's also as fast as on." Bara smirked like a madman "I wonder what kinda power you'll posses as time goes on for you!", he said with excitement to alex.
With one monstrous punch "SHUT UP!" Alex yelled as his punch was strong enough to twist Bara's head and slammed him into the ground. The entire ground shattered with rocks and rubble flying all over the place.
Breathing hard, he dashed to kazuki who was at the other side of the layer.
"You okay?"
Kazuki nodded slowly, but his eyes widened in shock and worry "Alex… your skin—it's burning."
The intense energy radiating from Alex's body was literally searing his skin.
Infuriated, Bara erupted in a surge of green energy.
"I won't lose to a bunch of kids!" he screamed, gathering a colossal energy ball. "I'LL KILL YOU ALL!"
Alex turned to Kazuki. "What do we do!? I just smacked him so hard his head was supposed to have blown off his neck. Motherfucker is still standing like a fucking berserker!" Kazuki replied to him with slight annoyance "Now's not the time to make anime and video game references!"
Alex turned to Kazuki "Wait, you watch and play storm breakers?!" Kazuki yelled with slightly more annoyance "Just shut up already so we can beat this guy and go home!"
Kazuki tells alex . "Focus all that energy into your arm. Just like how you do with your energy fists. That way, you can blast off more explosive power." Kazuki added "Look, everyone of is fighting for our lives now. You and me with this bastard. Serena and the rest with those robots. We've gotta end this with all we've got and come out alive!"
Alex transferred the churning dark red energy into his left arm "Yeah, you're right." The energy he compresed into his hand was so strong that it almost seemed like a dark red lightning. "Let's kill this guy!" Alex exclaimed as his energy grew higher and more crazier. Kazuki exclaimed in his mind "His energy is increasing. Nice!"
Bara started to charge up a terrifying amount of energy out of his body as well "A whole me.... bested by 13 year old!!!?? I'm not allowing that!" He exclaimed in anger. Bara then Screamed out in rage "NOW GET TURNED TOO ASHES!" and let's out a deadly burst of energy at alex and kazuki.
Alex rushed out towards the blast at a blinding and deadly speed "SUCK ON THIS!!" He yelled In anger.
Both alex and bara clashed. All the energy transferred into one point in alex's arm, and bara who shot out a devastating amount of power at long range.
"You won't survive this!" Bara yelled. "None of you will!"
Kazuki while watching this gritted his teeth, activated his Spiritual Mark, rushed towards alex and placed his palm on Alex's back.
Immediately, Alex's energy was cloaked in crackling purple lightning as it mixed with alex's.
"I've got you," Kazuki said. "Let's kill him!!"
With their combined power, they pushed against Bara's beam. Bara's eyes widened in disbelief.
"You… you're stronger!?" he shouted. His attack got torn through by alex and kazuki's combined effort and obliterated bara. This caused a massive explosion in the room.
But Alex and Kazuki roared, channeling everything they had. Their counterattack overwhelmed Bara.
"No way.... NO WAY!!!" Bara yelled—
Just before the blast consumed him in a massive explosion.
The smoke cleared. Alex and Kazuki, both with burnt left arms, limped toward Bara's fallen body that was sticking out of a pike of rubble.
"Is he still alive?" Alex asked, catching his breath.
Bara, burned and broken with his hair messed up, looked up weakly.
"If I'm dying…" he wheezed, "…I'm not dying alone."
Suddenly, a click echoed. The self-destruct button on his robotic arm activated.
Kazuki's eyes widened. "A self destruct button?!", he questioned himself before he exclaimed "RUN!!"
Both alex and kazuki sprinted out of hall as fastbas they could. Meanwhile, far away, Deo's watch blinked red and started to crackle.
"EVERYONE MOVE! The base is gonna blow!" He yelled in worry. This got everyone's attention. "Are you kidding?" Kinto exclaimed in annoyance.
Seeing flames of the explosion rushing at them, all the kids were stunned before they proceeded to rush out of the hall with serious looks on their faces.
It's like they already understood that every second mattered.
As they were rushing out of the hall, son exclaimed "What about alex an Kazuki?. "Alex!!" Kinto shouted desperately. Both son and baraka blasted huge wave of flames and a powerful blast of spikes from the ground. This destroyed the huge rocks and metal falling towards them. Not just that, but it reopened the exit they came from.
Raquel who seemed to have a look of a killer on her eyes, created huge waves of crystals to push herself and everyone else out of the collapsing base. "Crystal Technique: Special wave!"
The base collapsed and dust was everywhere.
Kinto exclaimed in worry "Alex!"
Out of the rubble, Alex shot upward, Kazuki slung across his back. They both crashed onto the ground with wounds and dust on their faces "Hey guys. We made it." Alex said with a tired smile, everyone rushed over to help.
Few moments later, as the kids were walking through the forest, raquel asked"You guys okay!?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks raquel."
Kinto supported Alex as they walked. Serena wrapped Kazuki's arm over her shoulder to steady him "He's so beat up." She said to herself.
"Did you beat him?" Deo asked.
Alex, still catching his breath, nodded.
"Yeah… we did."
Raquel looked at him with quiet concern. I hope you're really okay, Alex… she thought.
As Serena helped Kazuki, a subtle glow appeared on his spiritual mark—what was once a triangle now had a circle above it. Kazuki noticed it, smiled faintly, and muttered to himself:
"I'm finally getting stronger."
