A few hours after the fight between sōn and everyone is in the battle hall, Tomoa announces,
"We've come to the final fight of the first part of the assassination exam. Everyone of you who fought have done well. And the one's who didn't get to fight, would fight in the second phase."
He looks around before continuing,
"After this fight, the people who won in the first part of the exam will proceed to the second round. Due to their performance, they'll be promoted to C-rank—regardless of whether they win or lose in that round."
Son with a bandage on his right arm and chest, leans over with a curious look.
"I wonder who's gonna be fighting in this final match-up," he says.
Kinto furrows his brows.
"I can't think of anyone who hasn't fought yet. But ive gotta say, youre one heck of a mad man sōn". Sōn replied with a smirk "Offcourse I am. You need to be somewhat insane to be soldier."
Suddenly, kinto's expressions changed. A terrified look flashes across the boy's faces.
Tomoa then declares,
"The final match of round one will be between... Raquel and Mori."
Son widens his eyes with
"Wait, Raquel? I haven't really seen her fight at all despite her being my teammate.."
A realization hits him.
"...And she's fighting Mori? What the hell.?!" Sōn yelled "Hey reff?! Do something!" Tomoa turned to sōn "What the bell is this kid yapping about?", be asked himself.
Everyone in the hall goes silent in shock.
Kinto mutters,
"This fight.... it's not looking good!"
Alex turns to him.
"Why do you say that?"
Kinto answers with a grim tone,
"Because Mori is literally a C-rank assassin... and Raquel's still just a D-rank. Sure, he's on the very lower ends of C-ranks, but still... he has the higher advantage. And Mori's gonna bully her all through like he used to."
Alex turns and looks at Raquel, who stands off to the side looking nervous and trying to build up confidence. Alex exclaimed to Raquel who was on thr battle stage.
"Hey! Raquel! You can win this. Show the fucker hell!"
Raquel looks up, surprised but grateful. She smiles.
"Thanks, Alex."
At the center of the hall, Mori is already standing with an uninterested expression. Tomoa calls out,
"Raquel, you ready?"
Raquel steps forward and takes her position across from Mori "Yeah, I'm ready!" Tomoa explains,
"Whoever wins this last round will progress to the second part of the exam."
He raises his hand.
"Begin!"
Raquel takes a deep breath and immediately starts firing crystals at Mori in rapid succession. Mori, unfazed, dodges each one effortlessly as he was moving around and tilting his head.
Raquel then crystallizes her fingers and charges at him with an insane speed, aiming to land a strike. But Mori dodges each of her strikes as fast as he could. She pulls out a dagger and lunges forward, but before she can connect, Mori casually flicks his finger and shatters the dagger. Raquel was in shock for a moment "He easily destroyed my daggers huh?"
As Raquel was about to continue attacking with her crystallized fingers, mori dodged her again and then sends her flying with a simple kick. Raquel is sent flying and crashing into the walls.
"Is that all you've got?" he asks, sighing.
Raquel grits her teeth and quickly tries to attack him from behind with her crystallized fingers. She tries multiple strikes, each dodged by Mori.
"I need to land a blow," she tells herself.
She finally closes in with a strike, but Mori blocks her hit and kicks her hard into the ground. The ground instantly shattered.
"You're weaker than I thought. Have'nt you been training?" he scoffs, drawing a dagger. He moves in to stab her.
But Raquel crystallizes her hand and slaps the dagger away, managing to land a scratch on Mori's chest. She pulls back to gain distance and then sends huge waves of crystals flying at him
Mori glances at the huge wave of crystals that could crush buildings flying at him
"Pathetic." And proceeds to dust of the attacks with a wave of his hands. Everyone watching was in shock, even alex was shocked "With just a breeze of his hand?"
Raquel prepares another wave of giant crystals at Mori, but Mori suddenly blitzed forward with a small smirk on his face with his hands gleaming with blue energy "Cute!" He rushes forwards and was running through Raquel's crystals by using his hands to tear them apart.
Mori ended up blasting through all of Raquel's huge wave of crystals with an annoyed look on his face "You call that an attack? You're no match for me," and then releases a devastating punch on Raquel "Huh? He ran through all of em like that? He's gotten way stronger than before" she said with worry. His punch was strong enough to crack open the ground and cause and explosion of rocks and dust
As the smoke was clearing away, Raquel struggles to her feet and smiles faintly "Tch, that hurt. Still as strong as usual I see."
"Why are you smiling?" Mori growls, turning back with annoyance.
Then he sees it—parts of her body have been crystallized to reduce the damage from his earlier attacks.
"So you're still standing huh? Wait a fucking pain! Looks like you aren't as weak as you used to be. But still, fodder is fodder!"
Raquel breathes heavily.
"Hand-to-hand combat puts me at a disadvantage, and defenses dont work much either...."
She crystallizes her entire arm and fires a flurry of crystals at even greater speed "But I won't stop trying!" She exclaimed with little excitement but difficulty as well. Mori, irritated, draws another dagger and starts countering the projectiles as fast as he can. He was running and dodging every single crystal that came flying at him at the speed of sound "What the hell? Her attacks are faster now. But still if I get too close, I'll get hurt. She plans on covering the entire space around her with crystals to give herself better defense!" He analysed critically with slight annoyance.
While mori was running and dodging the extremely fast crystals blasting at him, with skill and calculation, he managed to get close enough to Raquel "You aren't going to play defense forever. Are you? You weak ass!" Raquel smirked as she crystallized her hands and legs and started to go blow for blow with mori. They were not just exchanging blows, they were moving at insane speeds while doing so. They were both throwing blows and kicks that were releasing powerful winds all over the arena.
Mori's hands started to glow with energy as he slowly started to overpower Raquel in the hand to hand combat fight. But still, blows and kicks were releasing powerful breeze all over the arena. Son whil watching this was impressed "Wow Raquel! I didn't know you had hands like that. Cool". Kinto on the other hand thought to himself "Raquel's holding her own, but how long can she last against that smug blue haired bastard?"
"I'm tired of this!" Mori yells, punching her in the gut repeatedly until she coughs up blood. Alex, kinto and sōn were stunned for a momemt "Are you serious?", son muttered to himself. He slams her to the ground again and proceeds to step on her with a huge amount of his blue energy crackling all over the place "STAY DOWN!" Mori exclaimed
Standing over her, he sneers,
"I hate it when people weaker try to fight back. Stay down, or I'll fucking do it myself and make it permanent."
He turns to leave.
Tomoa speaks up.
"Raquel, can you continue?"
She shakily stands with blood flowing from her mouth.
"I have one more trump card."
Mori stopped for a moment. He turns around and furiously charged at Raquel.
"Now you've done it!" he exclaimed with annoyance and murderous intent In his blue glowing eyes.
Right as he's about to strike, Raquel activates her Crystal Eye, a blast of white energy erupts from her body and it's impact sends Mori flying into a wall.
Serena was abit stunned "What was that?" Sukuna replied "No idea. But it looked insane. Raquel always had something like that up her sleeve?"
"How... how far would you go.... huh? " Mori's face turned to Raquel with anger "How far would you continue to fight back?." He launched at her with an insane speed.
Raquel stares him down.
"I won't give up… no matter what."
She flashes back to her childhood—memories of being called weak by her age group on the road, of people doubting her strength despite her role as an icon of the attack clan "Oh that attack clan princess? Nah, she ain't tough. Just a girl carried by daddy's money."
"Weak... Pathetic. I'm tired of always hearing those words. Each time I trained, it was because of I wanted strength. And to prove those bastards on the street that they aren't on my level. The scumbags always brought me down because they thought I was weak. Kids my age would look down on me. And then there was him" She pictured the kid version of mori standing above her with an annoyed look in his gleaming blue eyes "Pathetic. How is a weakling like you even related to me."
Mori charges again with incredible speed. Raquel's body starts overflowing with white energy as crystals and wind swirl around her. She fires off another barrage of crystal attacks, forcing Mori to weave and counter.
Levi, watching from the sidelines, mutters,
"While her Crystal Eye is awakened… she can move at the speed of sound atleast and can move slightly above it and attack twice as fast as before. But she seems more skilled than usual, i guess Tomoa has been training her continuously."
Raquel continues to unleash waves of crystals. Mori begins to panic In his mind
"If this keeps up… I might actually lose. Lose... against this...weakling of a girl?!"
He dashes toward her with killer intent "That ain't gonna happen! He reassured himself.
Raquel crystallizes her fist and throws a punch—but Mori narrowly weaves past it and places his palm against her stomach. Raquel's eye opened wide "Huh? What's he planning on doing?" He uses his palm to hit her on the stomach "Burst!" He exclaimed as a wave of energy flows from his hand and into Raquel's body. This wave of energy pushed her back and caused her to vomit out some blood. It was like as if she got hit by tye energy of countless buildings concentrated into a point "Shit! He... got me?"
The white energy vanishes.
Raquel collapses to the ground and coughs out more blood in the process, the colour of her eyes looked like as if it was starting to fade. She had blood all over he mouth.
"You should've given up when you had the chance. Not look at you, layed out like an over used sex toy!"Mori says coldly.
Son exclaimed In annoyance "Hey mori you bastard! That's enough, she's down for the count.", he seemed like he wanted to jump off the rails and save Raquel who was his teammate and friend.
He picks up a dagger, ready to deliver the final blow.
Everyone watches in disbelief—Mori is actually about to kill her. Kinto yelled "Oi! Stop fucking around you blue haired dick head." He and son were actually about to blast themselves down to save Raquel.
But right as the dagger comes down at a frightening speed.
BAM!
Alex swoops in and kicks Mori square in the face, knocking him away. He had a look of anger written all over his eyes. Kinto, son, serena, sukuna and baraka were shocked. Even runo who was silently watching saw this, arms crossed "For the first time in our friendship, I can say this boldy. You deserved that kick. You dumbass!"
