Kiki PoV
As we approached the house, Mommy stood waiting for us on the porch, her face like a statue. Her eyes softened a little as soon as she saw Alabaster.
"Alabaster, sweetie," she said gently, "why don't you head inside and show your mommy those flowers you got, hmm? I need to have a quick word with your Auntie Kiki."
Alabaster glanced up at me, a hint of uncertainty in his eyes. I gave him a reassuring smile and a gentle nod to let him know everything was okay. "Go on, Al."
With a small nod, he turned and headed inside, clutching his blue jay plushie tightly, as I watched him disappear through the door. Once he was inside, I turned my attention back to Mommy, bracing myself for the lecture.
"Kiki," Mommy began, her tone as cold as ice. "I need to ask you something important."
I nodded, trying to maintain a calm exterior. "Yes, Mommy?"
